Photos by Rich Graessle and Larry Levanti/Main Events — hiladelphia, PA: Steve “USS” Cunningham (27-6, 12 KOs)* took down the undefeated powerhouse Amir “Hardcore” Mansour (20-1, 15 KOs) via unanimous decision at the Liacouras Center. In the all-Philly main event, Philadelphia-raised Cunningham and Philadelphia-trained Mansour brawled for ten rounds of heart-stopping action that had the entire crowd at the Liacouras Center on their feet and screaming for more. These two warriors just kept coming at each other for ten straight rounds. By the end they were both bleeding and and battle-worn.

Mansour was relentless from the first bell. He kept coming at Steve with huge looping hooks. Cunningham began bleeding in the second round. Then Cunningham cut Mansour over the same eye in the third.

(Photo Credit: Rich Graessle/Main Events) Atlantic City, NJ: In front of a packed house at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ the Russian Wrecking Ball Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev (24-0-1, 22 KOs)* knocked out Cedric “L.O.W.” Agnew (26-1, 13 KOs) in seventh round to retain his WBO Light Heavyweight belt live on HBO Boxing After Dark. The Ballroom at Boardwalk Hall shook as Krusher made his entrance. Michael Buffer said of these two undefeated fighters as he announced the fight, “Someone’s 0 has got to go!”

Both fighters were feeling each other out early in the bout while the chants of “USA” came from the nearly sold-out crowd in AC. Agnew, normally a right handed fighter, came out boxing southpaw. Krusher knocked down Agnew just as the bell rang in the second round. Kovalev suffered a cut under his right eye in the fourth. Agnew took Kovalev deeper than he has gone in his last six fights but could not defeat him. Kovalev won via TKO 0:58 into the seventh round. The final punch total: Kovalev 107 of 402 and Agnew 31 for 109.

Cunningham Fighting For More Than Just A Belt 4/4 in Philly

Philadelphia, PA: Steve “USS” Cunningham (26-6-0, 12 KOs) has more motivation than ever to defeat Amir “Hardcore” Mansour (20-0-0, 15 KOs) on Friday, April 4th at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA and live on NBCSN Fight Night. Cunningham said, “This isn’t about a belt or about winning, this time I need this for my family. I need to make money. I have to get a new house for my daughter’s condition. I am fighting for another pay day and to keep going. ”

His opponent did not fight professionally for over nine years while he served time in Schuylkill Federal Correctional Institution in Minersville, PA for drug possession, though he spent any free time training and honing his boxing skills behind bars. Steve took a very different path to get here. He learned to box while serving in the United States Navy but he believes both men are equally as hungry, “I know Mansour speaks about how hungry he is and how his time in prison made him so, but I don’t have time to waste either. I am fighting for something much more important.”

29 Year Old Sensation “Czar” Glazkov Defeats Veteran Tomasz Adamek

In a twelve round unanimous decision the 29 year-old Olympic Bronze Medalist from Lugansk, Ukraine (17-0-1, 11 KOs) remains undefeated as he upsets the 37 year-old veteran from Gilowice, Poland, Tomasz “Goral” Adamek (49-3-0, 29 KOs) to win the NABF North American Heavyweight Title and secure the #2 position in the IBF.

Two judges scored the bout 117-111 and one judge scored the bout 116-110. Glazkov landed an amazing 37% (212 of 580) of his shots on the veteran Adamek, who landed only 21% (161 of 761). Czar said, “I would like to thank Main Events and Kathy Duva for giving me this opportunity and taking me to this road. I also want to thank Tomasz Adamek for taking this bout and giving me this opportunity. He was risking more than I did. Tomasz was not a guy who was backing up, he was coming forward. It was a very good bout.”

Kovalev Training Camp Report: All Eyes on Krusher

Lauderdale, FL: WBO Light Heavyweight Champion Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev is truly under the microscope as he prepares to defend his title against Cedric “L.O.W.” Agnew on March 29th at the Ballroom at Boardwalk Hall live on HBO Boxing After Dark. For the past two days HBO cameras have filmed “Krusher” at his training camp in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Last November veteran Tomasz “Goral” Adamek (49-2-0, 29 KOs) was scheduled to take on the up-and-coming Ukrainian 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Vyacheslav “Czar” Glazkov (16-0-1, 11 KOs) at Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY when Adamek fell ill and had to pull out just days before the fight. Czar went on to face Garrett Wilson at Turning Stone and won via unanimous decision in ten rounds. Now on March 15, 2014 the much anticipated fight between the veteran Adamek and the young challenger, Adamek’s former sparring partner, Glazkov will finally take place at Sands Resort and Casino in Bethlehem, PA and will be aired on NBCSN Fight Night starting at 9:00 PM ET.
