As knockout artist Curtis “The Cerebral Assassin” Stevens (28-5, 21 KOs) prepares to face James “The King” De La Rosa (23-4, 13 KOs) on the live HBO Pay-Per-View undercard of Kovalev-Ward “Pound For Pound” he once again has teamed up with world-renowned trainer, John David Jackson.

Stevens, 31 of Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York is known for his one-punch knockout power. For years he climbed through the ranks of the middleweight division with ease. The Kovalev vs. Ward “Pound for Pound” HBO Pay-Per-View telecast on November 19 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. will now include the 10-round middleweight showdown between Curtis “The Cerebral Assassin” Stevens (28-5, 21 KOs) and James “The King” De La Rosa (23-4, 13 KOs).

Stevens fought earlier this year on the Canelo-Khan HBO Pay-Per-View telecast and scored a spectacular second-round upset knockout of then-undefeated Brazilian Patrick Teixeira. When asked about the upgrade to the televised card Curtis replied, “I know it is Kovalev-Ward but now it is Kovalev-Ward-Stevens. Time to show out!”

Former IBF Middleweight World Champion David Lemieux (35-3, 32 KOs) dominated against Glen “Jersey Boy” Tapia (23-3, 15 KOs) with a technical knockout in the fourth of 10 scheduled rounds to claim the vacant NABO Middleweight Title. In the fourth round, Lemieux knocked Tapia down hard to the canvas, giving the fighter his first career knockdown. After a great response from their inaugural card in April, King Sports presented another “Boxing at the Barker” card tonight from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Three of the five bouts were broadcast live on a special Wednesday night edition of ESPN Boxing. The main event featured an IBF middleweight title eliminator between Hassan N’Dam of France and Curtis Stevens of New York. Boxing stars like Gennady Golovkin, James Toney and others were spotted ringside, along with celebrities like Sylvester Stallone. It was a great night at the fights in a fun venue.

Diehard boxing fans were buzzing about the main event on social media all week. On paper this looked like a great style matchup between exciting, yet vulnerable, fighters. Stevens (27-4, 20KO) entered the ring having won two in a row since his knockout loss to Gennady Golovkin last year. N’Dam (30-1, 18KO), a native of Cameroon now residing in France, had won three in a row since his lone defeat to Peter Quillin in 2012. There had been some trash talk leading up to the match and both fighters appeared eager to get it on during their ring walks.
