I look at my avatar and it makes me think that Cotto now has a win over another 'champion'.
Malignaggi just boxed and jabbed his way to a UD win
He said he wants hatton next

Malignaggi is going to be very tough to beat at 140 pounds with his speed, skill and footwork. Say what you want about his lack of punching power but he's got a great chin and a HUGE heart.

Malignaggi gave a solid performance & thouroughly deserved to win. Dominated in my view. Heard there's a clause for a rematch, but I'd like to see winner of Hatton vs Castillo take on Malignaggi.
Paulie stated he wants a bout with Hatton. I think it's a good match-up. How about you guys?

I became a fan of Malignaggi after seeing him against Cotto

Well, there is no one else for the winner of hatton/castillo to fight at
140 except paulie.
But, I thought n'dou looked shot last night. Malignaggi won't be able
to fend off ricky with just a jab. No way does paulie put a dent in "the
Hitman"

You say there's no one else at 140lbs, but don't forget about Junior Witter, Kendall Holt. Witter is even being talked about as a possiblity for Ricky's next fight after Castillo, providing Hatton wins next saturday.
Holt could be the dark horse among the whole group in my view. He young, so has time on his side. Solid fighter is Holt & will improve with each outing.

Based on their recent performances, this would almost be a 50-50 fight

There is loads of choice for 'the man' at 140. Be it Hatton or Castillo they can face Witter, Harris, M'Baye, Kotelnik, Torres, Holt and then Malignaggi. Alot of title fights out there, alot of titlists.
Paulies a tough nut to crack because he can box at an impressive pace for 12 rounds. You need to be able to out brawl him more than he can out box you ala Cotto OR you need to be able to hang with his boxing. Given his style and assets I don't suspect many can box with him. That's not to say he is in the same league as boxing as Mayweather but he's a tricky cunt.
Judah coming back down to 140 to face him would be interesting.

I think the Hitman is all wrong for Zoolander and he should go for the winner of Witter - Harris, he had lots of success keping N'Dou inactive due to Lovemore freezing whenever Paulie threw whereas Hatton will walk through everything that Paulie has, If JLC wins then that would be an ok fight for him as i think Castillo only has one or two (if that) decent performances left in the tank.

It didn't help that the ref quickly seperated them everytime they were on the inside.
I like Paulie but Vivian Harris would beat him down really bad.

I can't imagine Malinaggi taking on someone that great next. He already has a top-10 quality mandatory lined up in Ngoudjo, and just because he beat a couple of decent gatekeepers in Cherry and N'dou doesn't mean that the top dogs in the division are going to pay attention to him when they've got bigger fish to fry. Unless he thinks Ngoudjo is going to whip his ass, he should take a relatively easy fight, then the mandatory (which is BAD material anyway), And then someone a little better.

Cobra33 nailed it! I wanted Paulie to win but every time they got remotely cllose together it was "stop, stop, stop, stop,!!!" Cotton would not allow for 1 second of in-fighting. Ndou's only chance was to out box him on the outside.
IMO, Ndou's corner should have been raising hell with the ref to just let them fight!

I dont think Ngoudjo is a easy fight..., even though Hermann struggle vs Bailey, Ngoudjo wait for this moment this entire career and will show up with is A game !

I thought Eddie Cotton did an absolute TERRIBLE job ref'ing this fight.
N'dou was fighting two guys, the ref and Paulie. Cotton called "stop stop stop" everytime they got close, giving NO chance for N'dou to work inside, I mean they weren't even clinched, and he was yelling.
Also that rabbit punch deduction? A tad early, I mean shit, if Cotton was ref'ing the Cotto fight, Cotto would of been DQ'd by round 3.

I didn't see the fight, because I was at work. But if you were Lovemore would you be pissed? I always thought once Lovemore got inside and roughed him up then it was going to be a tough night for Malignaggi.

Completely outclassed N'dou, whom was coming off of a strong tko win over Rabah. N'dou gave Cotto a decent fight and gave Witter a really good fight and Malignaggi handled him with ease.
That says something, he's also improved on defence, being that N'dou landed in the 24% and threw 600+ blows.

Good fight for Paulie. He'll be a thorn in the side of anyone at 140. His ability to manage space -- by staying in jabbing range but away from power shots -- is uncanny.
That said, I'd like to see him face Hatton in fight handled by a competent ref, one who would keep the action right down the middle.
Not really surprised he beat Ndou tbh, the IBF belt was just sitting there waiting to be taken.
Hopefully Paulie will be getting in line at a shot at Hatton because surely the winner of Witter - harris will get a shot at the winner of Hatton - Castillo before anyone else...
By the way when the fuck is Witter - harris happening?

The best Malignaggi that I've seen. He didn't just jump out of range, run and showboat. His counters were good because he kept within range and picked his shots. Plus he listened to McGirt.

LOL@Walk Through.. Yea ok.. Paulie will make Hatton look silly.. Hes gonna get hit 5 times while tryin to rush in then paulie will step to the side.. Hatton should stay far away from Paulie trust me. If Collazo gave hatton trouble then Paulie is his worst nightmare. Besides you already see by the matchmakin they're not puttin hatton in there with any pure boxers that have movement.. they're puttin him in there with fighters that will stand right in front of him cause they know his fat ass has no stamina left

The top dogs in the division know all about him after his performance with Cotto. They just don't want to fight him trust me. Say what you want about his big mouth or lack of punching power.. But the boy got skills.. There's no denying that

I thought it was a great fight.. Malignaggi is very good. I never used to like him and thought he was hype but after the Cotto fight he won my respect. He's a tough guy, great hand speed, punches in combos, great defense, and great movement. The only knock on him is his punching power. But with all that skill he doesnt really need punching power.

Markbrooklyn - just get over the fact that your boy lost, it was over a year ago and is getting pathetic.
I was pretty impressed with Paulie last night he kept up a good pace, stayed accurate and got sharper as he gained control, the flurries he threw really served to spice up what would have been a less entertaining fight otherwise, it's nice to see an all-out boxer take risks against a rugged opponent to make the fight entertaining.

An impressive performance by Malignaggi, now he's got a title and is a real player at 140. I'd make him 50/50 against Hatton, and probably give him the edge over just about anybody else.

His performance last night reminded me of "Sweet Pea Lite"- he's not as good as Pea, but his skillset is similar, and he was embarrassing N'dou the same way Sweet Pea would do to guys. Of course, I'm not saying Paulie's the next Whitaker- but what he does have is enough to be a headache for pretty much everyone at 140. If he had some punching power, he could be a P4P kind of fighter.

Quick question. Is Lovemore N'Dou related to Phillip N'Dou?
There is some connection but I forget what it is. I think it's his cousin. There was talk of him avenging one of Philips losses.

The funny thing about it is that I hated him before the Cotto fight but his toughness made me a fan of his. I was really impressed with Paulie saturday night, his speed and boxing ability has improved since his last performance against the always tough Cherry. I would favor him over Hatton if the two ever meet. Right now behind Castillo he's my favorite boxer at 140.
