if u think they are at the same stage of there careers your a idiot.
Geale is still a local fighter, he has done well to pick up the IBO strap, and now he is tryin to test himself. at least he is tryin to fight more class each time, and he has called out Mundine Gav.
anyway, how is choc number 1 in wba rankings? when he hasnt fought at middle yet?
he must be payin for that rank, and thats a joke,
Mundine is bad for boxing, he doesnt do it how your ment to, ..........by earning it.
i dont know how u can put up with the shit he pulls, he is bad for boxing.
I'm not following this at all.

How fucking ironic, just listened to the main event ad for Mundine's next fight and the announcer bloke goes 'You would think after convincingly beating Green & Soliman Mundine would have put all the doubters to bed.... but there are STILL critics out there that continue to question Mundines opponents:yikes ............... Mundine v South America's best should finally put all the doubters in their place' :rofl :rofl

What part of "Mandatory"......Don't you understand?
Sturm has just fought his Mandatory.... He can now fight an Argie Cabbie.....
Mundine is at least 9 months down the List.... Possibly longer if Sturm's management want to delay it....(just look at Mundine's record of delaying tactics)
You are dreaming if you think Sturm will put his Title on the line outside of Germany....
There would be zilch....zero interest in the US of a Mundine -Sturm matchup...
Most likely it would go to a purse bid..... and with our fucked dollar.....Sturm is guaranteed of winning the Purse Bid.
Also..... You seem to totally overlook the fact that Mundine has not even fought at Middle.... and what now for the next 9 to 12 months....more Argie Cabbies.....cos he is not gonna be risking his ranking?
So....You might as well forget the US.....It will just be more of the same Bullshit from Mundine......and as per usual....suckers like you, will fall for it hook line and sinker...
Dream on Gav.....Dream on...

Boxing is a business first, sport 2nd. Everything in life is about financial stablility well most of it.
Are you whinging about him getting a title shot? All i do is hear you winge about things.
Mundine has done everything better then Daniel Geale has done things thats for sure. Just have a look at their records.

How filled with hate is everyone on this board?
Have you all forgot the courage it takes to go in the ring against elite level fighters? Because i sure as hell wouldn't want to do it.
Listen, hes his next mandatory. Odds on, Sturm will take it as a voluntary, Why?
Because theres nothing else for him to do. Even if he doesn't take it as a voluntary. He still should fight him within 9 months like you say.

Mundine is close to the full package, when hungry, whereas Geale is a much lesser fighter.

If you think it takes more courage to step into a ring with padded gloves than to face an enemy whose sole purpose is to kill you stone cold dead .....then you really do have the brains of a gnat.
Sure it takes some..... but I refer you to my Thread in the Lounge on this very same subject.....[Only registered and activated users can see links] No Fucker seems to agree with you.

Everytime Mundine has fought A grade fighters he's lost.

Do you have any idea how much Sturm makes in Germany each time he fights?
No way are they gonna pay that in the US.
My understanding is that if it goes to a Purse Bid...... It will be between Mundine's management and Sturm's... and the US won't even come into it.
ashley
11-01-2008, 08:59 PM
I think Mundine may have a chance of getting the fight (no purse) if they put it together like this
Sturm VS Mundine in Sydney.
1. Sturm takes 100% of gate after 1/2 cost
2. Sturm takes 100% of O/S PPV
3. Mundine takes sponsors and Aussie PPV and 1/2 cost
Mundine will have 2 take a pay cut however based on 15,000 people at the gate and world wide 150,000 PPV and 500 pubs it could make $3 to $4m profit.
Sturm would see Mundine as very beatable and would have seen Sacia and Kess come here and beat Mundine on points
Any chance?
Im actually putting things into perspective mate. As far as i see it, if Choc can make weight, he beats Sturm.

Maybe, maybe not. I'm not dreaming about anything, Geale to me looks like a good prospect, that's all. I'm not for one minute thinking that he is the best thing since sliced bread.
It's you and people like you who insist that Mundine is something special and will take on the world.

Only if they think that Mundine is likely to be beaten
But even then.....I sense that Mundine has lost the hatred of Joe Public...They no longer care all that much what he does....They are simply over his Bullshit...

Now i was thinking a fight with Sturm could do this. Ozzie, your definetely right though it will be a major struggle getting the fight in OZ. I do think, even though others don't, that Sturm will want to test his metal against the big guys in the division, thus possibly a double card luring him.
Okay, but back to presuming the fights in Sydney.
My guess is, looking at :
- 15 000 Seats. (You have to remember, Redfern is behind him). Without his fans throughout Hurstville etc etc. And everywhere else.
- PPV's will be right through the roof.
It all comes down to marketing. Both these guys are marketable. And if there is a flare up in the weigh in, which could occur, with 2 confident fighters, then things will explode, PPV numbers that is and seats.
I presume Mundine wins because power + speed advantage = win?

Boxing is a business first, sport 2nd. Everything in life is about financial stablility well most of it.
Are you whinging about him getting a title shot? All i do is hear you winge about things.
Mundine has done everything better then Daniel Geale has done things thats for sure. Just have a look at their records.
Who has Geale beat? :patsch
Are you the same Ulimate Boxa 2 that got banned from Boxrec?
When will you learn that Mundine has raped the sport of boxing with his dickhead manager and turned it into a circus. His managment are conning the public especially the uneducated people like yourself into believing his bullshit.
Yes he has a few good wins and has potential but continuely pisses it up the wall by fighting South American cab drivers and second rate opposition. If your happy that he is going to fight Sturm then you are a goose.
Sturm is the weakest 160 pound champ and it shows were Mundines balls are and thats in Nassers mouth.

We are all pissed that Mundine fights avarage fighters agreed......now we are going to bag him for fighting a world champ :-(
Sturm is a good fighter who has handed out several boxing educations to good fighters including outclassing a few of our up and coming aussie fighters.
He also fought Oscar in his prime.....I thought Sturm won that fight.

Sturms a credible opponent and I don't understand how anyone could knock Mundine for fighting him. I sometimes wonder if Mundine ever did fight all these top guys (which I doubt), some people would still find something to whinge about.

Sturm maybe better than we think as he gave it to Sylvester on the weekend and Sylvester was no easy beat.

I have no doubt Sturm can hang with both Pavlik and Abraham. Its worth noting that guys like Shannon Taylor, Ayala etc etc have gone deep into the fight with Abraham. Sturms defence and chin, is better then these 2 fighters. And he also has a great jab and solid workrate which will win him a lot of rounds against Abraham.
Prior to the weekend i thought Abraham UD. Now im begininning to think Sturm can beat Abraham.
As for Sturm vs Mundine, Sturm probably is in the box seat. But if Mundine comes in hungry, the skies the limit.

Sturm quite easily (if it even happens). Mundine lacks the heart and courage to trade with someone world class. Plus his last fights have been a poor preparation for a guy like Sturm. He should fight Soliman again, then maybe another Argie cab driver as a tune up, after that maybe fight a shot Green- that way he'll not ever have to test his abilities again and get out of his comfort zone- retiring with a little bit of coin and absolutely no legacy to speak of.:good

Dantes you make me laugh. In fact all of you do. He stood there and traded with Green for the 2nd half of their fight. He chased down Kessler in the 12th. And he also chased down Ottke in the 8th and went toe to toe.
Double standards here fellas. It may be wise if you all watch the fights.
Because saying Mundine won't stand and trade with Sturm is complete bull, he stood there and traded with Green.

Your love of Mundine makes me laugh too. To think of all the fighters out there who actually fight the best, don't talk shit and are in it for the legacy, the test of will and courage rather than the money- and yet you back an embarrassment of a man...who you continually have to defend due to his weak career.
He fought Green years too late, he said Ottke 'hits like a girl' then got KTFO :rofl and Kessler bullied him the whole fight..wow he fought back a little in the later rounds- maybe if he did that during the 'whole fight' he may have had a chance (thats what boxers are meant to do remember).
Mundine's diminshed in speed, hand-eye co-ordination (cyclops) and opponents (hard to get worse I know). Sturm would rape him.

Actually i find it funny when people revert to things like this saying you love someone or your a nuthugger. In fact i watched all 3 fights over the weekend. After i watched Sakio win the contender (DVD).
Now im 100% certain he stood there and traded with Green for the entire second half of the fight. The 12th round with Kess. And he went after Ottke in the 8th big time.
Now im right on this. Theres no doubt. You can all say what you want. But it won't change my opinion. I saw it with my own eyes.

Its up to the WBA. Notice how Sturm said he wants to fight more regularly? (Meaning increased commission for the WBA). Well thats what Mundines best attribute for the WBA has been. Regular fights, regular income. E.G Look at who hes been allowed to fight. Now in Sturm saying this, WBA may give him a lot longer, then needed before fighting mandatory.
Way i see it. Hes fighting Geale in January. And going over to the US with the IBO belt. Possibly fighting there for the WBA belt. Or going through some lesser American opponents.
So My Guess:
- Geale
- Espino
- Sturm

I think Mundine will make weight....its only another 1.5 to 2 kgs from his last fight.
I dont think Mundine would mess this up considering everything he and his team do is calculated.
He would know if its possible and he is now rated at MW by the WBA.
He has done the right thing by fighting at 164 and should be ready for 160 this time round.....it will be interesting if he tries to get down to 160 in 10 days or if he fights again at 162 to 164.
I suggest you apologise for this comment.why, he is not Gavin Stone
