View Full Version : Khan/Cook/Mac DLH/Pac sky box office

"He's gone!"

Just looking at the Sky Sports boxing tv schedule on there web site. The Excel card of Cook vs TBA and Khan vs Fagan as well as Oscar/Pac are listed as PPV on sky box office. I assume there will only be one fee, which makes it a little easier to swallow but it doesn't compare well to Setanta and there line up of fights included with monthly fee.

i wouldnt mind paying for setanta for the odd fight, but they charge a start up fee which is stupid, plus they seem from what alot of people say, money grabbers, cutting off at 3am, not letting people watch fights, saying go to another channel thats not even there. Rounds cut out in fights. Bad commentary hmmmm, complaints never get sorted out. Sky is pricey, but im happy with em.

More than happy to pay the PPV this time round. Pac-Man, Juan M Lopez, Ortiz. The British card is one of the best ive seen in a god damn long time, so its all good.

Setanta are making Sky look silly at the moment.

Long may it continue.

To be honest I've experienced none of the above.

I've got Setanta through Sky and it's not a problem. I believe people with freeview have had problems though.

I don't think it's too bad. I remember paying for Hopkins-De La Hoya!! It looks like a decent FW card for once. Hopefully we get the Rogan and Small fights too.

Ahhh it might be ok for me. They should just charge £5 or something for 1 night of boxing. with no start up fee.

Guys spend £150 or so and get a basic satellite receiver with a motorised dish. All these fight you can then get for free.

I have no idea what your talking about, not a wiz with the technical shizz.

Broadcast rights to these fight are bought by foreign television companies. These are broadcat via a feed, if you search about you can find the feed. Otherwise just watch the foreign channel that is showing the fight. eg Saturdays JC RJJ fight is on Polsat Sports. Tune into polsat at 13E with a patched receiver and you can watch for free.

Its not overly technical once installed.

foreign language?

Yes but to be honest with you I never really likes commentary as all commentators do is talk shit. Last week I heard a commentator say if you have a bull like head then you can take a good shot. Duke McKenzie. Barry M etc etc all talk shit till the cows come home.

If it on foreign channel then I do not understand and dont get irate at the shit they are talking.

Plus on Polsat before every fight they show Andrew Golota fights and talk about them for an hour or so before the main event. The Haye Enzo fight was on Polsat as well. The Hatton PBF fight was free on a german channel.

i've got setanta through Bt Vision. Bit pissed off you only get the 1 channel (I used to like those shitty golf products on the Golf Channel guaranteed to improve your game!) but it's got all the main stuff. Think I had to switch channels for the Haye Enzo do (was that on very late? if not the Calzaghe Hopkins one), they tell you which to turn to and it just carries on. Bit of a parp but one clap of thunder and my SKY used to go down and not come back up for hours. Wish I had a bird like that...................

i cant see how people can complain for paying for this event

we have the biggest fight of the year on paper (pac dela hoya), hottest ko artist (juan ma lopez), two world title fights from the uk (enzo mac and nicky cook), khan v fagan and harrison v rogan

now thats two great fucking cards frank ****** gets a lot of stick but fair play to him for this, i have a feeling the card would only have one of these 4 fights had carl froch not been fighting on the same night

Basically,...reverse the polarity of the conductor on your transmitor, interface the signal receiver with the audio visual scanner ,and then obviously combine the oscillating unit with graphic display console, which will open the Light emitting diode conduit.
Then its plain sailing.:good

Still, it is quantity rather than quality - but that's the way it goes I suppose.

I think ITV will whip Sky's ass though.

Pac vs Hoya is a fucking joke. The Khan fight will be shit. Audley vs Rogan will be a mess. Cook vs joke is a joke. Nothing makes it ppv worthy and the fact that we have free boxing on another channel makes the set up stink. The only remotely 50/50 fight of credit is the Anzo world title fight.

FW has hardly put the pacman fight on has he ? All he has done is setup his shitty card for the same night so people think it is not that bad paying for it as we get the pac fight as well.

Franks card that night is actually shit and nothing worth writing home about. The GBP card is the decent card but FW has nothing to do with that.

I would rather pay for a DH card. His promotion was pretty decent and some excellent fights.

Plus Froch v Billie Jean on ITV will eclipse FW shitty card.

i know ****** has nothing to do with the event in vegas, i never said he was promoting it did i,
its still great value for what 20 euro, the FW card is NOT shit

harrison v rogan ; decent fight rogan is exciting and its audleys last chance
khan v fagan; after his last fight and fagans no push over this fight will be interesting
cook v foster ; average
enzo v banks ; enzo mac is usually exciting and also been sparked by haye adds interest

throw in the event in the states we have a GREAT night of boxing for a cheap price

It's not great at all, its decent.

Cook and Foster for the "Sports Network belt"

Enzo Banks - fair enough, interesting.

Khan v Fagan - A decent prosect, nothing special.

Rogan v Harrison - No disrespect to Rogan but he's going nowhere in boxing certainly not above domestic level anyway, Harrison is just a clown.

Standards are so low on Frank ****** cards now that he gets praised for putting together a half decent card.

if there wasn't a show on itv i'd consider buying this show. instead i imagine i'll have a stream up at the same time as the itv card.

i wonder which fights will clash...

it will be worth it if the show the harrison, small and chisora fight. got a feeling smith and pryce were gonna be on the card. be worth the cash if we were getting 10 quality fight from both sides of the pond.

if sky and SN have any sense they'll make sure the main fights don't clash with the froch fight

dwilson

Yep. I may stream the Enzo and Rogan fights and watch the main event of Froch, try and catch the other fights while people are talking hopefully.

Will Khan get the main event time slot on Sky or will they actually give it to the deserving world champ contenders?

to be honest this is a much better deal than the hatton card. sky should offer them together for £20 like they do with WWF ppvs.

the hatton ppv card is absolute bull shit. hatton vs mallignaggi is the only fight thats decent on the night, matthew hatton is bullshit
