Exactly right, and I have a horrible feeling this might actually happen. If it does I imagine fingers will be crossed for Harrison V Rogan haha.

If Calzaghe, Haye and Hatton somehow lost who would we then have?
Froch is what 30? He is very good but Kessler would beat him.
We then have Cook, who lets be fair is a decent fighter,
but even as WBO champion he is out of his depth mixing
in that sort of pool, even though Foster jr is going to guarentee him
atleast 1 succesful defence.
Then looking at people like Kevin Mitchell, he is good, but his defence
is his downfall, and his power is ok but wont be good enough
at the higher levels, he also seems to lack discipline to stick to a game plan,
if he wins a title, it will be just like Cook and Arthur, just a paper champion
who wont be looked at as a serious belt holder.
Khan has world class offensive skills, but lets be serious unless Roach works miracles with Amir then he wont amount to anything close to his dreams and own ambitions.
I did rate John Murray, but since his fight with Hamidi ive written him off and believe he will be lucky to suceed at european level.
Munroe is ok, but to be fair isnt even going to last much longer at european level in my opinion, Dunne would beat him.
So who then?
Nathan Cleverly?
Kenny Anderson?
Denton Vassell?
Stephen Smith?
James Degale?
Frankie Gaven?
Billy Joe Saunders?
Bradley Saunders?
Tony Jefferies?
Those guys are the future i guess some i'll have missed off im sure, some havent even turned over yet,
infact some of them may never turn over into the pro's, but they
all have a long way to go before they can even talk about fighting
for a world title.

Without hype.
We would be stuffed, though we have been spoiled in recent years, with the suiccess we have had.
Hatton will lose everyone else will win.

Where will that leave british boxing?
Not too sure what state that would leave British boxing, but I think its fair to say it would not be a good state lol!
If all three loses, I'll regret not going to Paddy Power & having a bet on all three losing, because I imagine you would get generous odds for that one!

Jones 5/2
Barrett 10/3
Malignaggi 15/8

not to forget enzo mac who should win back the wbo strap and could beat most cws around at world level now that haye is gone imo.hatton and calzaghe will both be retired within a year so its time for froch and haye to step up anyhow

We havn't got a "next generation" at world level.the general idea is to evolve,im sure we will produce the goods over time.

Aye, a casual fan was asking me the other day who'll be the next top Brit ala Hatton, Calzaghe, I couldnt really name one! We dont have anyone coming through imo that makes you think "Yeah he'll defo be top top class" so I just ended up talking about Haye and Froch and how theyve both hopefully got a lot to achieve in the future, though I dont see Haye sticking around for that long win or lose.

I think having two top 10 P4P fighters is a rare thing for Britain, especially over an extended period as we have.
Perhaps we need to accept that we may have to accept just one, or fringe P4P'ers for a while.

Sure we will over time but over the next 3 to 5 years theres no one that I can see.

We don't have to much world class talent outside those 3, so we'll be pushing fighters like munroe, murray and cleverley out of there comfort zone and into harder fights, to quickly IMO in order to satisfy the british fight fans.
Altho i see hatton going for a couple more years yet and i think IMO that calzaghe will probably get a good win in good style and fight on?????

calzaghe keeps saying this will be his last fight
hatton probably got 2 more at most so we are about there anyway
froch is 30 so hes not gonna be around much longer thats if he beats pascall
i like rendall munroe but cant see him doing much at world level to be honest so i think were struggling
james degale is one i will be watching think he could be promising
bored
11-05-2008, 12:34 PM
Munroe is unlucky, He's in such a strong division and he can't really move up, he lacks power at this weight.
If all these fighters lose we'll be fucked but I doubt it will happen.
