I Love these mythical showdowns.
I'll go with Floyd by close decision.

I don't belief in this "pound 4 pound" fights. Too much imagination.
But I can say that Floyd is more skilled and talented than the very skilled and crafty Bernard.

I have a hard time with these, because as people get bigger they frequently lose some of their physical attributes. That's why Shaquille PfP was a better athlete in his prime than 95% of the NBA, but in absolute terms he certainly was not.
And that's obviously a very dramatic example, but who's to say how a 6-0 version of Floyd would be, or a 5-8 version of Hopkins.

Floyd is more talented but definitely not more skilled .. he might appear that way due to his natural ability much like Roy Jones was (Floyd has way more skill then Roy though)
There aren't many fighters that are so adept at taking their opponent strength away than B-Hop ... so im going with the old bastard :)

Great point about Shaq. Ignorant people call him a tall, big, untalented player. Reality is that he's an incredibly gifted athlete for a 7'2", 330 lb human being. He's got incredibly light feet and can move gracefully. You can't teach that.
As for the question, yeah, you can't play these games because the bigger one gets, you lose some of that speed, agility, and foot speed. Hopkins is a MW+ and PBF started at JLW.

I take Floyd by very close UD or even SD.

PBF, 8-4...bhop is a very slow starter...4 of first 5 rounds to PBF
but in ATG rankings bhop is higher

He's had to change his whole game to compensate for his ever diminishing atleticism and he's still a top ten P4P fighter. I'd like to see what Floyd will have to offer at 43...

Agreed. Even the biggest PBF fans have to admit that he utilizes a lot of natural gifts to get it done. He relies so much on his reaction time/reflexes to see shots coming and get out of the way. That's what makes his defense what it is. He sees and his body can react like few bodies can. This also factors into his offense.
I would like to see what PBF can do around 36 years old.

Floyd was much more offensive minded when he was fighting guys his own true natural size. Educate yourself.

The crazy thing about this matchup is that I just said that Bernard is the greater fighter than Floyd on another thread, and he is big time. But if you match them up p4p I would pick Floyd to beat him on decision. But Bernard comes to fight and has beaten the best and fought the best. Floyd has the talent to be an ATG yet he has not fought anyone really great and beaten them which would make him one.

in a P4P match up - Mosely, if both were in their prime, Mosely

another case of ATG vs all-time p4p...
ATG, bhop ranks higher bec of his accomplishment
but in terms of head to head p4p, it's PBF, he is so much skill and know how to pace himself and at the same time win the early rounds..

Floyd by UD. Fighters with a speed advantage are Hopkins' kryptonite, and in a p4p matchup, Hopkins would have his size advantage, which he usually masterfully used to bully opponents, taken away from him. Hops is immensely skilled, but not enough to overcome that. Floyd may well be the best Hops would've ever faced in terms of executing a winning gameplan; combine that with the better speed and reaction time, and it's impossible for me not to think Floyd would be the one to emerge victorious.
