That's messed up, he would have been great for boxing, for some reason the best boxers of all time from cuba never get to turn pro
Stevenson
Savon
Kindelan
And now Rigondeaux
Sad, really sad

Such a shame. They must be really worried.
How about America go and run an operation freedom in Cuba.

Yup. Dumbasses will never be leaving Cuba again, at least not in Castro's lifetime. Their boxing careers are over internationally I suspect; unless they go through some hardcore brainwashing classes.

I read that. It was after they racked up a huge tab at the hotel they were staying at and realized that no one outside of Cuba gave a shit who they were; while back in Cuba everyone knew them.

Castro at this point is just a party figurehead, there are multiple hardliners still controlling Cuba behind the scenes. Castro's death does very little in terms of change.

Oportunity only knock once they will regret it for the rest of their life been declared traitors their only chance is to jump in a raft and trying to make it to Florida.

Even though it would have been great to see what all of the boxers you listed could have done as pros. The human rights isues are more of a concern to me.

This really sucks, heard from some people in cuba that they are not going to go to jail or suffer, they might even receive positions as trainers or boxing scouts, its hard to say exactly what's going to happen to them but as far as their boxing career they will most likely be suspended from the boxing team for ever or a certain period, it will be no surprise if I go back to cuba to see my family and they take me to see him at the local supermarket selling bread or shining shoes, but somewere along those lines... Only time will tell, he is my favorite fighter even with 0 pro fights and I've been hoping for him to defect for the last 7 years and what just happend what the worse that I could think of.
It all just went down for me, but I still have Solis who has been my other hope since 2000 aswell
