View Full Version : whatss the best thing to eat before a fight for energy

ive got a fight coming up and im not sure what i should eat after the weigh in to give me energy. I dont want to eat the wrong thing and have me feeling lethagic.

Eat what you are familiar with. Carbs, like say a nice pasta dinner will help...maybe a banana as you get closer. Stay well hydrated. Nothing spicy.

My last fight, I had to cut weight for...so was essentially starving going into weight in. weighed 153lbs. Ate 2 servings of lasagna, salad, a sub sandwich, chicken fingers, french fries...3 gatorade and a bottle of water. lol Was 159 before stepping in the ring...bit excessive...but had a lot of energy!

Simply...nothing unfamiliar or spicy. The day before the fight, the week before...those meals will largely figure more then this one.

pasta meal 3 hours before
fruit 1.5 hours before
slow release energy

Oats or porridge. Works like a dream for me. I have them an hour before a workout and im like a fire hydrant for the whole session. Slow carbs baby!!

i was going to say oats as well^^^
i have even heard of ppl eating them raw. i've done it myself sometimes when in the middle of a workout and get real tired. crunch on a handful or 2 of them and most of the time i was good. give it a shot
