Both of these guys have to come in around #10-#8 pound for pound.
The high level of skilled boxing that was displayed this weekend was something only elite fighters can produce.
They threw every punch in the book with beautiful precision and their hearts are second to none.
I'd say they come in at #8 and #9 or so.

He was already top 20 after stopping Gonzalez.

*Taylor.
Head to head, level playing field, he gets slaughtered by almost any top 20 p4p. If these lists were based strictly on ability and not accomplishments on paper, without his gift wins and draw there would be no justification for including him.

And I was ridin' in shotgun....:good
Vazquez has been one of my personal favorite fighters for a while now.....which drove me crazy because he was always VASTLY underrated.
As for the question of the original poster....
Raph was in most people's top5 p4p. Vazquez was just outside the top10 for most people, so yeah, that would normally mean he's top 10 now.

Bottom of the top 10. He's a beast.

Top 10. He stopped Oscar Larios in 1 round. And 3 rounds in the most recent fight. Came back to stop a very tough Jhonny Gonzalez. And now holds a win over Rafa Marquez who was in my top 5 before the fight. Definately in the top 10.

Yes. A 2-time Ring World Champion now at Super Bantam with wins over Larios X2, Choko Hernandez (who beat Too Sharp Johnson), Jhonny Gonzalez, and now a legit Top 10 P4P in Marquez, by TKO no less, all accomplished in his last 6 fights, Vazquez is Top 10 P4P.

Cotto hasn't beaten a top fighter. You don't rank on excitement. Spinks also beat Judah, don't leave that out.
Vasquez has beaten better fighters than Cotto, so I would have him in there instead of Cotto.

If taylor beats Pavlik he deserves top 5 on anyones list easily, if so this man deserves his respect and due props regardless of what anyone thinks of him. I don't like him as a fighter but hes gotten past hop and winky and if he gets by pavlik i think he deserves top 5.

yes he is definitely top 10. I think I underrated him a little bit before the fights with Marquez. After beating Marquez I think I would have him somewhere between 6-10. Im curious to see where The Ring puts him, considering they had Rafa #3 P4P going into the rematch.

Absolutely.
I had Rafa in my top10. Now IV is in it. He ranks one notch above Rafa.

15-20, beating someone at #10 doesn't make new #10,
the P4P list is for people who continuously win big fights.
One time event is not enough.

He has strung together several big wins interrupted by one hard-fought loss against a fellow p4p elite.

Exactly.
On top of that Vasquez is exciting to watch. That was a brutal fight. It ranks up there as one of, if not the best fight I've seen all year.
Rarely do you get two guys with that much skill with such a relentless attack on one another.

Marquez was #3 by Ring.
And Pacman and a few others have vaulted into the top 10 after a big win like this. Hatton did....

top ten or at least very close to it. . . point is he made a name for himself with a great win over a great fighter . . . add to it, both fights were entertaing as hell . . . the rubbermatch should be even better.

He had a name already. Rafael used his victory over Israel - along with his momentum of nearly seven lossless years including pairs of victories over very good fighters in Johnson and Mabuza - to springboard into the p4p top ten. It was at the time his signature and biggest win. :nod

I just think it's funny that he is now suddenly considered worthy by people who didn't have him near the top p4p before for the accomplishment of beating someone who was launched into top ranked p4p status primarily on the basis of defeating him.
