i lost 12 pound before my first amature fight sweating and running on the treadmill 2 hours before my fight i was 166 and clocked in at 154 at fight time i went in the ring and got tkoed in the 2nd round because i couldnt move my legs and arms felt beyond weak and the ref had no other choice but to call it im a quailty fighter and a posses many skills for a novice now was this fight lost due in part of me cuttin the weight in that short of time or just lack of composure and nerves from my first fight? because in the first round i was gettin the kid nice the i started to sweat and i hit this wall and it was a big wall.

You either need to maintain your wieght better while you dont have a fight lined up, or fight at a higher weight.

Food? The guy lost 12lbs of water, I think that may be the problem.

fight at a higher weight. 12 pounds is too much before a weigh in.

You lost 12 pounds in two hours... Its not even healthy to do that in a week or two yet two hour before your fight. Theres gotta be exaggeration, 12 pounds of water weight? Is that even possible?

Time for you to move up at least 2 divisions mate. And to dehydrate that badly and get in the ring is extremely dangerous. You sure it was 12lbs you lost in 2 hours?!? As thats almost impossible..

Iv done 10lbs in a week and i suffered badly and had the worse cramp iv ever experienced. But 12lbs in an hour is magical! To actually be able to walk at the end of all that is a miracle. Im calling BS.. :bart

5.5 kilo of water, I don't know. I never wear a sweat suit or crap like that but I sweat like a pig during training. I lose about 3 or 4 pounds in that time frame.

You're lucky black people never sweat :D

You're lucky black people never sweat :DI sweat like a pedophile in Church mate. It pours off me like water. My dad was the same. I can easily loose at least 5-6lbs of water in an intense session.

Yea...I've been thru a period of losing weight recently, 2 fights in particular. One fight, lost about 6 pounds in a week, dehydrating and starving, then sauna'd and spit cup to lose another 2.5 lbs right before weigh in. That drained the shit out of me. Luckily guy was shit. Bad way to lose weight.

Next time I did it right...lost about 8 pounds in 2 weeks. Lotsa distance running, loading on protein, cutting back on carbs, salts etc, lots of small meals often. Weighed in at 153, ate a pile of food, plus 3 gatorade and a bottle of water before fight (like 3-4 hours) and was 159 before stepping in the ring. Loads of energy and felt strong.

Careful when cutting, can not only lose ya the fight...but get yourself hurt in a bad way.

I thought it was something genetic, I've trained with a few black guys and neither of them ever breaks a sweat. Another myth debunked :D
