I've heard Woodhall call him Judah before so why start calling him Judder now?

He was waaaaaaay out on the date of the first Conn-Louis fight as well. "Early 1930's"? He had the graphic in front of him telling him the rematch was in 1946 FFS!:patsch

And why does Haye call Sam Peter Sam Peters?

Didn't Eubank used to be called Eubanks though? Barry fought his brother and maybe still calls the family by the original name? On NutsTV they were mangling the very straight forward name of Arthur Abraham pretty badly as well...I blame Terry 'Enry.......

Yup Chris Eubank was born Eubanks and his brothers fought under that name. Barry did indeed fight one of em.

Edit: The one that gets me is Duke never did manage to work out how to pronounce Ottke.

woodhall is a terrible commentary, he tends to stray from whats actually happening in the ring and waffles about shit

it was brutal hearing him say the fight should be stopped, in no fucking way should it have been stopped the cut was bad but not that bad, also it was possibly jones final fight so lets him fight and the cut never got worse and th eref made sure the doctor kept his eye on it

The lead commentator for Setanta was awful too... He didn't even know who Emanual Augustus was? :patsch

Richie is usually very interesting to listen too but he was so biased. Setanta have serious commentry issues they need a good lead and a suitable support. I'd even listen to Reg Gutteridge and Jim Watt over two people who don't seem to know the goings on of the sport. If Setanta are reading DO NOT use Jim and Reg.... Just find someone decent.

Woodall is very good, knowledgable and insightful - but often (and did on Sunday) sounds like a trainer - use the jab, get that left hand going and the uppercut etc etc and was very biased in favour of Joe.

Now I know those two are pretty good friends, that I have no problem with at all but one must question the wisdom of him commentating on Joe's fight. It would be like Adam Smith calling a Hatton fight, or Johnny Nelson on a Witter one.

I actually like Rawling, he does get over-excited at times when a punch lands but at least knows (or seems to know) the game - a lot better than the joker on display this weekend.

Yeah it was like he'd never watched a boxing match before. I couldnt believe it when they started saying that they'd been told by Claude Abrahms that Emanual Augustus was capable.... Thats common knowledge amongst even casual Ring Magazine readers. They then argued that anyone who could do 10 rounds with Micky Ward ust be good ommiting that it was the rings fight of the year....very amateurish... Least with ITV you get comedy. That was just poor professionalism.

i thought setanta done a great job having showtime or hbo's commentators like they used to, it would have made a big difference to the level of enjoyment i got saturday night had they used the american commentary
and i cant stand the american accent at times, i thought it was brutal

Very true. Especially that hatton fight with thaxton should have been stopped and if it was a international bout it probably would have been. Even though that cut was bad the jones one, the corner made it worse by pooring buckets of water over it.

I live about 4 miles away from Richie and he's always called him Judah in the past.

Everyone i know calls him Judah.

Only Hatton called him Judder until now.

Bunce pissed me too when he calls Calzaghe Calzakhe.

on another note why on earth was woodhall chosen to commentate?
A) woodhall is a good friend of calzaghe (bias)
B) he fought both jones and calzaghe (bias)
C) never been a good commentator, olympics only for me (bi....annoying)
