Leonard Dorin/Paul Spadafore - Robbery

Scored this a week or two ago after hearing the word robbery thrown out once or twice since I've been here.

Christ, what an understatement. Never has there been a more obvious draw designed to help both fighters keep their belts and their 0's.

I believe my score was 119-111 for Dorin. And they weren't even particularly close rounds.

Spadafora is still undefeated too this day... 41-0.

Any thoughts on the fight or either fighter?

I can see why Dorin got sick of the sport and retired.

The judges scorecards were fucked up for that fight too. They gave all the early rounds to Spaddy (when Dorin clearly did his best work), then gave the late rounds to Dorin (when Spaddy mounted a mini-comeback), I guess so their robbery wouldn't look so blatant at the end.

True..And people shouldnt go by what gatti did to Dorin from a bodyshot to use an example as Spits class as a fighter..Paul imo would have boxed Gatti Fairly comfortably.. Paul beat Manfredy,so what does that mean> nothing..styles make fights is all..Paul was not doing badly against Dorin for having a really tough time with cocaine between fights, no excuses just fact....Spaddy was so fun to watch to me..True boxer

Mayweather did not duck paul..Floyd would have beaten him imo..The money wasnt right and paul felt he deserved more

Gatti KO'ed Dorin with a bodyshot at the very tail end of Dorin's career when he was disgusted with the sport and getting ready to settle down with his family regardless.

Kosta did the EXACT same thing.

Not to mention Gatti has always been a good bodypuncher, going in against Dorin he was being trained in part by Ward who's a great bodypuncher himself.

Spadafora was a world class boxer who couldn't stay out of trouble outside the ring.If Dorin had met Spadafora a couple of years previous he would have easily been outboxed.By the time of the Dorin fight Spaddy was in turmoil with his outside troubles.Such a shame because Spadafora had tremendous skill-everybody gets all excited about Paul Magalani and Spadafora was 10x a better boxer.

I didnt think it was a robbery. I thought a draw was the perfect decision. What was a robbery was Dorrin's first win over Balbi. Balbi kicked his ass royally and got totally robbed and after the fight you can hear Gary Shaw walk up to Dorrin with a smug grin and say "I told you Id get you a championship."

Crappy fight, honestly. Just two guys without enough power beating on one another all night with a robbery draw at the end.

Dorin got robbed and after that he really lost his interest in boxing, which led to Gatti KTFO the out of him(not really but anyway).

Moral of this story: Gatti is a true fighter, while paul and leonard are not.

Neither had legitimate power of any sort so they mauled each other for twelve rounds. No ebb and flow, nothing that stood out, just a one sided fight with a robbery at the end.

Spadafora isnt a powerpuncher yeah your right..who cares though..he wanted to prove he had heart in that fight.he did..James Toney himself gave spaddys talent praise.gave him the name the mexican assasin.in freddie rouch;s gym he was spanking on all types of good fighters..Pauls underrated..Thats what a true technician is..Just used what he had n made the most of his skills

I don't like seeing two fighters without power mauling one another. There's a difference between a clean KO and prolonged feather fisted beatings that lead to retardation.

I personally think Dorin was far better then Spadafora, anyway. Absolutely dominate Emmanuel Augustus.

His win over Cardona. Getting off the canvas to win against young victoriano Sosa.The manfredy win was great boxing..Not everyone is pernell Whitaker and Ray Leonard.. Spaddy has a style that appeals to some people. Some others dont like it.But he was a true defensive master..He did quite well for having a bum leg and no power

Dorion should of won.
He was alot busier and finished stronger.

Dorin won that fight pretty clear,that was a robbery.He won at least 7 rounds.The judge that scored it for Spadafora was brought in a week before with higher orders.And it was a great fight.
