Good on the little fellas for having a go but clearly they were being exploited as a novelty. I mean they were surrounded by those clowns from Zoo..no doubt the next issue will have wide coverage on the fight.
It was very hard to watch...I gotta say I didnt watch most of the fight.

I agree..... Apart from total lack of skill..... It was a total fucking mismatch..... The size differential was like a Heavyweight taking on a Welterweight...

The smaller of the two midgets danced around for the whole fight and occasionally copped a few punches. It was 4 X 1 minute rounds so pretty boring to be honest.

Nothing against the two little men who should be proud of their efforts but the promoter/people who put this on have ZERO respect/regard for the sport of boxing. What next ? Have two young men with cerebral palsy fight each other for the cerebral palsy world title. How about two 80 yr olds fight for the over 80 world title.
The promoters are c#nts imo.Shame on you.

Personally I think your post has more holes than swiss cheese. The promoter in question has pretty much been involved in boxing since being a teenager. I think if you knew him, you'd find he had quite a bit of respect/regard for the sport. Anyway, each to their own...
it was a bit of a novelty, but the main thing is if the fighters were having fun & are willing, then good on them, if they want to box, its probably the only opportunity they get, as for the names..... dont the fighters get a say in it? i personally found it boring to watch, but good on them for having a go, i dont have the gonads to do it, sparring is as far is ill go.

ok put it this way, can you picture Wimbledon before a Nadal Federer final putting on an exhibition of midget tennis on centre court ? no way ! they have too much respect for their sport !
Everyone who has the guts to step on the ring doesn't deserve to be on a national televised event, that's the sad truth.
Being on tv should be about being the best this country has to offer

i understand this view,
I agree with the view but i'll put it this way this little men fight is just as bad as the last few fighters Mundine has faced and I truly mean that so if these guys don't get the right to fight on TV neither should have after those 2 shocking cards. Not just chocs main fight either but the whole cards are a joke.
Least last night had a great main event and was well worth the wait to see it.

Pretty sad state of affairs to see something like this occur. However, the 'freak' shows always have someone willing to be a participant for the audience.

Not the same fight but what was the deal with Les Pipers corner using spoons between rounds to stop swelling ? Is there any particular benefit to this ?

nothing out of the ordinary... just cold spoons to reduce the swelling.. obviously they dont have a regular iron you would normally see

I have seen the spoon used before in a fight in the US. Obviously the shape works well and Bryan has picked up on this. He might dance like Virgil out of Thunderbirds and his Mum still dresses him, but he is a thinking trainer and he is always looking at new methods - if only he didn't have a head like a pumpkin things would turn out better for him! :p

Didn't you love Andy Raymonds "Spoon Time" hahaha cracked me up.
We use spoons for the simple fact they are thin and cool down extremely fast. Considering you only have about 30 to 45 seconds between rounds to work on your fighter, the spoons work well for us, the swelling was under control and the eye did not blow up when it got nicked. But don't worry I am currently sourcing a motorbike piston for our new one!.

I was actually watching some midget kick boxing on youtube a month or so ago, and it was a similar scenario to this one in which one midget was considerably bigger than the other one.
Funny thing was that they both kept doing the exact same moves over and over even when they failed.
They could take a blow though, but I guess they wouldn't be able to muster up mych of a swing being all short armed etc.
Does anyone happen to know if they're chins are just as durable as regular people's? Because it looked like it from the footage I saw.

True. If they had of been of similar size it may have worked out better.
Credit to both of them for getting out and having a go!
