im really in debates over who wins this fight

the two best technicians in the world

Hopkins: craftier, and more skilled overall, better ring generalship, and a dirtier fighter

Winky: younger, higher output, very skilled

Who do you think has the better defence? i think hopkins does

one minute i think hopkins experience will work, the next i think winky is very hard to solve and may pressure the old man down.

Hopkins will throw Winky so far off his gameplan. The only people who kind of give trouble to Hopkins are people who pack a hard, quick punch and are willing to take a hit to hit back because they can catch him with a flailing uncalculated punch. Wright will get pwned.

Hopkins can't break down his defense? Hopkins can break down ANY defense over the course of 12 rounds.

AT 170 lbs, Hopkins wins simply due to the size advantage. He really is way bigger than Winky. AT 160 I think Winky may pull it off though. But as it is, I say B-Hop.

I'm not sure that size will matter much in this fight. Neither man will be trying to knock the other out. It will be a very very very technical fight.

I think Winky clearly dominates the Legend at this stage of their respective careers. However, at 170, I'm not too sure.

I don't wanna sound like a nuthugger, but noone has ever dominated Hopkins. Jones clearly won 8 rounds to 4 but he didn't dominate him either.

Winky has about a 20% chance of winning, and if it happens it'll be a close win.

I'm gonna bet at least 200$ on this fight. The odds are almost even.

would a draw be out of the question?

although if I had to choose, i'd lean towards a close but clear UD for BHOP.

I have to go with Hopkins. As another poster stated, Hopkins has the most trouble with the kind of fighters who lunge in whaling away with their eyes closed....those kind of styles make him cautious of being head butted or getting caught with a foolish shot at the end of an exchange. Wright doesn't do much except play matador, but Hopkins won't go for it.

I was pretty surprised to see Wink getting -140 respect from Vegas today. Trying to "read" the books has its pitfalls, but they are begging people to back Hopkins with this line. If you think Hopkins will dominate this fight, shell out now. If you like Wink, wait. These odds will have more than flip-flopped by fight night.

You can't get much better value than an ATG, facing a smaller man without KO power, at +110. If I was sure Hopkins would win (I'm a fan, not a nuthugger), I'd get my bet down today.

But the more I think about it, giving Winky even a 20% chance might be generous. If he pressures 'Nard like he did Taylor, he will take a massive beating. He's going to have to be versatile enough to outbox the old man, which plays right into Hopkins' late career energy conservation mode. Winky's jab is going to have to be the best its ever been to come away with a W.

Hopkins wins 7-4-1.

Hopkins is going to start late like always and lose too many early rounds. He can't maintain a fast pace for too long and this explains his losses to JT.

Winky in a upset.
