Hey, I have bought tickets to vegas already, does anyone know when the fight tickets come on sale, where to buy them from and how much they will be?

Also has anyone got any news on when tickets for the david haye fight come available?

edit: not so sure anymore, it was the Mgm Grand website, I am starting to think the tickets have not been released yet

my brother has booked his flights and he was looking at the mgm website, it had all the seating sections (a,b,c, etc.) and the prices allocated to each section (ie. section C ringside was $5500) for the fight

come to think of it, it may not have been the MGM website, but the information attributed to it was all about the seating arrangements in the MGM if that makes sense, he got a tip off from holiday company as to where and when to pick up tickets

Here's a novel idea, why not stick the fight in a bigger venue :patsch

It is fucking awful, they argue with you saying that Calzaghe never fights out of britain he needs to come to america. Emmm hold on a minute when was the last time Floyd Mayweather ever fucking stepped out of America for a fight???

Don't give me the shit about more money if they had 80,000 in Wembley for the Hatton/ PBF fight an average of 100 quid a pop for a ticket that's at least 8 million just in ticket sales, add in merchandise, advertising/sponsorship, PPV the money would be unbelievable.

Yep it is. Mayweather would rather fight in LV for less money. Hatton is giving up weight, money and venue. If and when he wins there can be no excuses from PBF.

Let me guess what they'll say. PBF was a natural super feather. PBF was coming down in weight. PBF was distracted by fans singing during rounds. Ricky had the audacity to throw punches at PBF. Ricky took the ultimate liberty by not being scared of of Floyd, he didn't hesitate, and worst of all he fought non stop for 12 rounds (he was meant to get tired, floyd was robbed, bah bah bah.)

The GF had me in stitches after the Zoo fight....I've never heard such crap They'd all picked Zoo by very early KO and were busy blaming poor reffing, hostile crowd, low blows, roughing up etc but the best was people moaning that Zoo had to fight at 3am - like Hatton didn't!!

Tzyzu took the defeat like a true champ, he could have given the GF a few pointers!

Oh yeah, that was awful.

The worst is when they call a fighter shot but have no reasons as to why. Tszyu wasn't shot, he just lost.

He wasn't shot but 3 rounds in two years at the age of 35 doesnt help if your away to fight someone like Ricky Hatton!
I have refuted this a ridiculous amount of times. It is a worthless argument.

True, I know its a massive generalization but ageing champs seem to get beaten by young pressure fighters quite a lot. I think its a hard style to beat for 12/15 rounds when you've lost that little edge.

But then you have to think how shot is Kostya Tszyu when he can fight that hard for 11 rounds and had he wanted gone 12! Tszyu has NEVER shown THAT type of stamina. Tszyu best display of stamina is in his last fight!

Just how 'shot' Zoo was is a hard question to answer. Not to take anything away from Ricky but (IMO) both the Mitchell and Judah fights were freak results in that both of them, tactically, fought very poorly esp. Mitchell. If you take those results away them you have a 34(?) year old champ who'd not really been in a competitive fight for over 3 years.

For the record (in case I get accused of using hindsight) I thought both those results flattered Tyuzu and picked Hatton by decision (I had £50 at 7/1). I was in the MEN counting my money....nearly!;)

He beat two slick southpaws and he beat Mitchell twice. Both would never beat Tszyu. Tszyu has their number. People always thought they box their way to a UD but Tszyu is hunting them, catching up with them and timing them from the first bell. The fact he got them out of there in 2 and 3 rounds shows how on point he is.

3 rounds in 2 years is a lie. Truth is he'd fought 3 rounds 7 months ago. Out of that 7 months, HALF of it was a training camp for Ricky Hatton. Prior to that Tszyu had THREE training camps for Mitchell.

Mitchell is going to have the style to show if Tszyu is rusty, lacked sharpnss, reflexes, power etc He didn't. He beat the number 1 guy in the division in 3 rounds.

Plus ultimately Tszyu didn't LOOK shot or past it. He just lost.

GazOC
08-09-2007, 07:37 AM
As I remember those two fights Zoo didn't have to do as much 'hunting down' as he should have. Both Mitchell and Judah fought dumb fights (esp Mitchell), I'm not saying that would have won but the early KOs flattered Zoo IMO.

Not true at all. He had to get up on his toes and track these cats down. He had to time his right hand and be wary of their slick fast shots. All indicating Tszyu is not shot. Mitchell has absolutely no exuse, it was the second time he was fighting him. Judah on the other hand was fighting what people consider the right fight, he just got beat.

I don't see how they flatter Zoo, rather show how devastating he is. Could Cotto, Floyd, Witter etc do what Zoo did to Judah? No. Even a 6'2 welter throwing 100 punches a round versus an older and even more beaten up Mitchell couldn't put him away in three.

Mitchells next fight he shutout a fighter with one loss.

Nothing suggests Tszyu was shot or close to being shot. Maybe he wasn't in his prime but so what, who is. Prime is bullshit brought up in hindsight. Tszyu was at his smartest and most experienced, while still retaining his physical faculties.

GazOC

We remember different fights then. I distinctly remember Mitchell foolishly deciding to stand and trade rather than use his boxing skills. I'm not saying Zoo was shot, I'm saying people read too much into those 2 results (esp. Mitchell) when assesing Hattons chances.

The people who say that Kostya was old or shot need to get grip. They're ones who saw Zoo in training and said he'd destroy Ricky.

Floyd Mayweather is no Zoo, Floyd Mayweather is a different kind of machine. As a fighter and athlete, I am a bigger fan of Mayweather.

This is going to be a very interesting fight, they will both have to do things differently technically, Floyd Mayweather has superior in my made one punch accuracy an speed. He is so accurate, his punches are like tomahawk missiles “fast and accurate”. But instead of 1, 2 short accurate combo’s/ Floyd Mayweather in this fight will have to be releasing combinations in bursts all power punches. Pretty much like he did against Gatti.

Ricky Hatton is going to come forward, he is going to get hit, he is one dimensional, he is not Mike Tyson, Rick Hatton is not allusive does not have great defense, Mike Tyson had in his best condition. But the man is pound for pound, the most intense pressure in the game, Ricky Hatton! A total beast!

Floyd Mayweather technically is great at adapting, and I think he will adapt to Ricky Hatton.

And when that happens, it will be bad. Both fighters will be hit in this fight, it will be a fight!

No it’s just annoying watching any sporting event in a bar, also ringside it just has never appealed to me. Sitting in a chair, with a crap view of the ring. When you are watching it on TV, you can analyze the action more, plus I like listening to commentators.

There is nothing better than watching a big fight, drinking what you want to drink, sitting in your chair.

We should have the three judges watch the fight on TV then? Seriously you say ringside has never appealed to you have you ever tried it? I could agree with you if we talking about a crap seat in the nosebleed section, but ringside is the place to be if you can afford it IMO.

Only seats I would watch a fight from are ringside seats. When I am at home, I can chill out, make some food if I fancy some, and wear what I want. I like listening to what commentators have to say.

I hear you on that but this is a trip I've promised myself for a long time. To see a major title fight in Vegas is a once in a life time thing for me, the Hatton fight has enabled me to rope in a few mates who are casual boxing fans to really put the icing on the cake.

But yeah, wearing a pair of trackie bottoms and drinking a few Bailies with a Chinese takeway is a decent way to watch a fight.:good

NO WAY, NO HOW is sitting at home ANYTHING like being at a fight.

It's like saying you had a tough spar so know how Ali and Frazier felt in Manilla. Yeah, you fought and so did they but the feeling is totally different.

Yeah, you are watching a fight like me, but being there is a different ball game.

The adrenaline, the electricity, the passion, the pride, it's a whirlwind of emotions. It's too much.

Ever punch is nail biting because it can close the show.

IF you want to be analytical then watch on tv for better look, replays, commentry, punch stats etc but if you want to really immerse yourself in a fight then being there is second to nothing.
