i think he could've beat ROBER THE GHOST GUERRERO and become the new ibf champ at 126...instead he's gonna get his ass whooped against marquez at 130

Agreed.
Marquez will put a beating on Juarez.

stylewise, this is as wrong as it gets for juarez. he needs a stationary target to be competent.
and marquez wont do that.

no, but we know juarez is limited and he needs a guy to come at him like robert....at 126 he's a key player, not at 130...guzman, marquez, manny, barrera, soto..etc etc...

I don't think getting a title shot against Marquez was all that stupid, could he have taken the less dangerous route and beat ROBER THE GHOST GUERRERO and become the new ibf champ at 126?
Sure but where is the challenge in that ? Who knows he has a punchers chance if Barrera was able to put him on the deck Rocky has a chance a punchers chance but thats it ..

most if not all of rocky's ko's have came against guys that try to bull rush him...can you honestly see marquez doing that...i just think marquez is way to classy for juarz who is a slow starter...

dont cancell out the ghost, cuz i think that the ghost couldve made juares disappear, and im not just saying that cuz robbert is a personal friend of mine..its that juares aint really shit.... his big win was a goof against zahir raheem and that was only cuz of point deductions or someshit...

actually nooooooo, his big win was that first fight with barrera...we al know who really won that fight...
and what has roberts biggest win been....against mickey mouse...or might mouse....whatever his name was

He is going to lose to Marquez. He could have beaten The Ghost.
Bad move by Rocky. Marquez also pulled a bad move by not fighting Guzman.

Please...Barrera won the first fight without a doubt, he held on for a very close decision. At the worst it might have been a draw, but no way did Juarez win. At any rate, I guess I could see why Juarez would take this fight, the Ghost is young, and very dangerous titlist but definitely not a star (yet), JMM is a pound4ound fighter (who is getting older and slower every fight). If Juarez can pull the upset, he will be right in the thick of things in the division (not to mention a ring champion). The problem with Juarez is that he gives away to many of the early rounds, he doesnt start fightinh until the 4th round or so.

If he show some nice moves against Marquez then he can right away
go back to 126 and fight Guerrero.

My guess is that Juarez's thinking high risk high reward. Who would you rather have a win over on your resume Gueereo who is good but not great or Marquez Who drew with Pacquio and beat Berrera? A fight with Marquez is probbly a biger payday than a fight with Guerreo.

exactly. I thought about the same thing that Freddy is talkin about, and concluded that Rocky is likely taking the JMM fight because of the bigger payday. Boxing is a business, and these guys wanna make as much cash as they can before its all over. I cant blame them. Plus, you have to think he can get himslef another shot at one of the belts at 126 in the future anyway.

I agree his chances are far better vs Guerrero, NO DOUBT!!!
Yet the money and respect?? Is there vs JMM. I wont fault him, I actually respect his mentality. If Guerrero hangs on?? They'll be time to whip his ass.

One thing about Rocky. Unlike JMM, he's all about taking risks to prove he's the best (Barrera x2 after MOVING UP, Soto, Raheem...all quality fighters)

Rocky has been a bit of a dissapointment but he aint no bum and if he lands that left hook a couple times we could see a pretty good upset.

Yes, because he had an opportunity to fight GUZMAN. And Guzman offers JMM three things that Juarez can't:
1) Guzman is undefeated
2) Guzman has the WBO belt to unify
3) Guzman already beat the guy JMM was supposed to fight, Barrios
In fighting Juarez, JMM is showing he would rather take on someone who has already been defeated twice by Barrera (although I thought the first one was a draw, the second was a wide UD) AND Soto. So YES, JMM TOOK THE EASY WAY OUT.

While I agree with you that Raheem got screwed by the hometown ref against Juarez, I think Guerrero needs to stop hitting below the belt and rabbit punching, because he does it a lot, especially when he's in trouble. He had a good win against Abazi though.

I'll admit I'm a hypocrite. If this were his third weight class and he were considered one of the best fighters in the world, then the interest would be in the best possible matchups. This is just a pity case where we want to see a midcontender guy get something.

GBP is not stupid. They are using Rocky in hopes of turning him into their house gatekeeper to test their big money prospects at 126-135 for the next few years, much like how Top Rank did it with fighters like Bobby Boy Velardez and Hector Velasquez. Juarez is too blind to see this though.

Juarez would beat Guerrero at 126, unless Guerrero whipped out the rabbit punching and low blows.

Rocky is a bit tentative when he has to be the aggressor. That hesitation will cost him dearly against Marquez.
Bad matchup for Juarez, IMO.

I like Juarez, but his main weakness is that he seems to be unable to crank it up when necessary. If someone is bringing the fight to him, he's dangerous and capable. If someone just sits on the outside and slowly outworks him, he just sits and waits... and waits. He needs a corner that is capable of lighting a fire under him.

Juarez clearly won the 1st fight. It's plain nuthugging for anyone to see it otherwise.

Maybe you need to see it. This time w/o Pac's balls in front of your eyes. :deal
It was a close fight that I thought MAB barely won. You're a Pac fanboy. Case closed.

Stop being a douche...Juarez didnt clearly win anything, he had the chance and he blew it. He let Barrera wins rounds down the stretch that could have won him the fight. Lets just hope your boy Pacquiao finally gets to American to train for Barrera, if he is not 100% focused Barrera will have his revenge.

Yes the respect and money is there but instead of a W and a title he will have another L on his record.

I know . . . I know . . . problem is he is destroying his own future by doing so.:-( And basically It should be GBP who should be protecting him . . . rightnow it doesn't seem so, they are milking him and making money out of him without consideration at all.

Exactly, it suprises me that more people cant comprehend the financial end of matters.
Rocky will almost certainly get more money to fight JMM, more money and more recognition.
In JMM's case, its my guess that the money purse for him will be the same whether he fights Juarez or Guzman.....you'd have to be a complete moron to offer to take on the tougher task in Guzman if the money would be the same.
A case of less risk, same reward for JMM.
Guzman is just going to have to wait in line, its not his time.

It will only lead to an early 2008 fight with Manny Pac for JMM.....and if victory comes for JMM in a Pac fight, you're still going to come up with shit to discredit him.

exactly. only fight that matters for jmm is pacman. if he wins, all will be forgotten unless your a hater like the_fag. beating guzman or soto or valero means shit compared to a W over pacman.
what with all the hate though, i thought it was ok for a fighter to take a easy fight after a big fight and especially considering jmm has a fight with manny lined up.
