Pernell Whitaker with power... i mean back in 99-2000 when he was unbeaten not faced a real test and hasd these plaudits showered on him.

I thought he was a sure fire next dominant champ, along the lines of RJJ...I mean, who wouldnt? This guy was the fastest boxer in the world, had great power, with great defense....who knew he was a complete idiot, wasn't dedicated to training and had little ring intelligence?

No, but I was (and still am) impressed with his speed and athleticism.

"Pernell Whitaker with power" is a nearly impossible expectation to live up to.

I did think Judah would have a better career than he has, and picked him to beat Tszyu in 2001.

Well I believe and still believe that Zab is a force to be reckoned with.

His shortcomings are just a matter of focus, and I expect him to have another big win and pick up another belt. Its not out of the question.

And adjustment abilities, confidence, and not the best chin (although not terrible as people often say). And the fact that he just took a horrible beating.

If this guy can ever get his shit together he'll be a beast.

Speed - Power - and a Southpaw. We know he has the talent - he just doesn't have the discipline. Damn shame.

get a few beat em up opponents under his belt......its been a while since zab has put a number in his win column and it would def. be a confidence boost. i think yoel does a pretty good job training him zab just cant put it all together. he will be back and will probably win another title i just dont think he will ever become what he should have.

I think I would need to see him fight again after that beating he just took to know if he was ruined or not, it was not a KO punch like KT dealt him, that was a systematic destruction that was akin to 33 minutes of torture.

I thought he was destined to be a STUD.

I remember at the time thinking that a few years down the line Judah vs Mosley was my dream fight.

No, but I thought his career would turn out better than it has.
