I'm fighting this Saturday, and it's my first fight at 141. I feel good at this weight, and I feel like my power's stayed with me despite losing some 20 lbs. over the past few months. Not to mention the kind of shape I've gotten in, and how much sharper and quicker I've become.

I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Small meals, spread out, nothing insane. Consisting mostly of chicken breasts, lean beaf, and a lot of fish. Supps are fish oil caps, protein shakes, amino acids before I run in the morning, and flax seeds. No carbs after 7:30, training three times a day.

Just try to eat clean - you'd be surprised the difference that it can make. No fast food, and if it's salty, greasy, or really sweet, chances are, you don't need to be eating it. I allow myself one cheat day a week, where I have about two cheat meals, but try to stay relatively strict.

Run in the morning, alternating tempo runs for up to 6 miles, and all kinds of intervals and sprints. Lift 2-3 times a week, hit the boxing gym 5-6 days a week, usually putting in around 20 or 25 rounds of work a day, with one light day, where I focus on skill work.

At least you've won in the past 4 years.

Nah, too taxing on the CNS considering all the training I do. I do a circuit training routine consisting of power cleans, bench press, squats, and weighted pull-ups in that order. I do one after the other with no rest between movements, relatively heavy, for around 3-4 reps max, and a minute break between each circuit. I repeat the circuit 4-5 times, and I'm good.

Thanks man, I feel good, and I'm loving it out here. Good training, and great sparring. Feeling confident, ready to get it on.

Shit man. Are you going to Ringside? You should. Then enter the big tournaments like PAL, Golden Gloves, and Nationals next year. That's what I'll be trying to do.

I fought at 165 for a while. And the flax caps are full of fiber, so they keep you "regular" and make you feel more full throughout the day. Research the benefits of fish oil and flax, it will amaze you.

I'll talk to the coach about it. He's actually the head of USA boxing in Northern Nevada, so he has no problem getting anyone fights.

In all seriousness - yes. There are quite a few girls out here who fight, and he puts on shows every damn week. He'd have noooo troubles getting you guys fights. On the 30th there are a few guys he's driving down to Vegas to fight some Canadians. It's ridiculous, for real.

Thanks, but it's easy to do back in North Carolina because the talent doesn't really flock to boxing. Now I'm in a trial by fire type of atmosphere. I mean, as fat as boxing goes, Nevada is where it's at, you know?

Hm....maybe I can put your coach into contact with my coach, I don't know if he has any contacts down there or not, he could use some though and I'd like to box again before Ringside. Might be a good idea at least. Sounds tight down there though. Glad you were able to stick around.

Well done Mach, looks like it's all paying off for you now. That was a fucking big decision just leaving your hometown like that without really knowing what Nevada was like. Fortune favours the brave. :good

Boxed and lived in the Fayetteville/Ft. Bragg area. Boxing out here is a lot more prominent, man, real talk.

First and foremost, let me say, injuries suck dick.

It was an RSC in the third round due to a separated shoulder I suffered half way through the second round. It literally popped out on me, but I guess my pride or stupidity wouldn't let me stop. The ref gave me a fucking standing 8 even though my opponent was on the other side of the ring, and even had the audacity to ask if I wanted to stop.

Between rounds my coach asked about it, and kept asking if I wanted to stop. Obviously, my answer was a resounding "Fuck no!" over and over again, even though my right was practically numb.

Go out for the fourth, and was scoring pretty well with my jab and landed a few good counter left uppercuts inside of his jab, then the ref just jumps in and stops it. Needless to say, I was a LITTLE pissed.

After the fight, the doctor checks my shoulder, says I should get it x-rayed so on and so forth. Later I found out I was ahead pretty clearly on all the scorecards when the fucking fight was stopped. I could've danced around for a minute and been alright, but I guess they were just worried about my shoulder. Oh well, shit happens.

Felt pretty good until my shoulder gave out on me. I started a little wild, as it was my first fight in a while, but I got everything under control, and I feel like I did some good inside work. I feel really strong at this weight, as everything I threw with any conviction made him shell up, and tentative to throw any shots at me. I could've worked off the jab more, but I guess I WANTED to draw him into a fight, so I could see how hard I could bang at this lower weight.

I'll be getting a rematch as soon as I get done rehabbing this shoulder.

The ref did a good job in stopping it judging from your story. You could've been hurt bad if he let it continue. At least you know for yourself you could have won the fight. Fuck him up in the rematch.:good

Sucks about the shoulder...but nothing u could have done about it. How long do they think you will be out for? They probably don't even want you to shadowbox do they?

Right there is some valuable experience that you picked up.

Maybe you'll remember this day when if it happens in the pros and you fight smart until you get the W!
