I heard he was in the corner of Danny Williams not long ago for a few Danny fights and he took on Haye when David was 16 years old....what do you think about him? Is it more about Haye's natural talent or was Booth istrumental in leading him to the top? Can he come up with game plans? Does he give good advices in the corner?
It's not a rhetorical question, it's just that he's known for being Hayes' pal and as far as I know, he has never trained any other champs.
Thanks in advance

Well apparently he and haye worked out a plan for the mormeck fight and that went exactly how they planned - so i believe he has a good game plan and you should already expect him to have written up the plan for the Wlad fight already.

No idea. I couldn't hear shit from the corners.

Cant really judge a trainer from just one of his fighters as it is difficult to tell where one's talent ends and the other's begins. But my main criticism of Haye (I'm a big fan of Haye incidentally) is that he often reverts back to a swinging brawl rather than boxing. Which makes me think that Booth needs to prepare Haye better and make him stick to any initial game plan.

Who else is in Booth's stable?

Very good IMO - just a dickhead.

nobody else fights under booth currently i think.

i do think Booth has a big part to play. if you have a fighter thats supposed to have a dodgy chin, that ends up beocme a world champion beating huge punchers, the trainier defo has a big part to play.

the way that mormeck fought agaisnt was all to a gameplan, and it worked, they even said they might have to get up of the canvas.

haye also trains reguarly with guys like McGirt and Khans cuban bloke. haye always says the reason he lost to thompson was because he didnt do what booth told him to do.

does anybody know was booth a pro or amateur?

i think booth is agood trainer, not much experience but his knowledge of the physical capabilities of a human body is good and he has a good fighting brain

The impression I get from Booth is that he is very meticulous, leaves no stone unturned and nothing to chance.

Seems very good imo.

He's also training Michael Maguire so we'll find out a bit from how he does witth him. I think Booth is good with Haye as they have a good understanding. His preparation seems to be spot on.

Seems to be open to all differing training methods and he's certainly doing a good job with Haye. I Get the impression he's basking in Hayes success at the minute and he's certainly up himself a bit, but you need more proof than that to be classed as a good trainer.

Can he do it with less talented folk though?

#11: Well, according to the Sun's top boxing columnist Haye has no chin, no stamina and no heart so Booth is working with a boxer totally lacking in talent!

Adios.

Chin - questionable
Stamina - not exceptional, but better than any other heavy
Heart - well got up from a bad KD against Mormeck to win, so decent enough

Who is the leading boxing correspondent for the Sun?

Is it Colin Hart?

I don't remember the last time I bought such a shit paper to be honest!

Ah, the same guy who said Ricky Hatton would be an all time great, then the week after said he had never beaten anyone decent?

Quite why a leading (well not really) national newspaper would allow a guy with such a conflict of interest to write for them is completely beyond me.

While they are at it, they may as well get Arsene Wenger to report on Man Utd's fixtures!

at first i thought booth wasn't up to much but as times gone on i actually see a guy that has his own philosphy on boxing and i respect that. i do find the you threw 32 punches that round david thats great now can you up that? strange but then he gives a good piece of advice by saying mormeck can only hold up two attacks then stops. must admit i like to see some more technical and tactical advice flung in but if it aint broke don't try fix it although it's only worked up till now we know how cruel a sport boxing is.

I don't think he is good at all. I've never seen any words of wisdom, impressive pad work etc Haye seems to have taken care of his own path. Experience has changed Haye i.e. losing to Thompson. Haye made the decision to go to America and train with top fighters and coaches.

Does anybody know if he's training george groves. He was on hayes undercard and I felt he did similar things to a early david haye

Seems quite good to me, although it's difficult to tell when he's dealing with talented fighters who'd be champions WHOEVER trained them. A good example being Billy Graham. Let's be honest, he's nothing special as a trainer, but had a great fighter. I think some of these new, younger trainers like Booth,Beard,McCulloch etc are a breath of fresh air and a refreshing change from the tired old geezers we've seem for years and years. I'd make an exception for Brendan Ingle, who produces the goods time and time again from a very small geographical area

Hard to judge a guy that only trains one fighter.

I trained with Adam many years ago when he had Chris Okoh as his charge at the Bushido Martial Arts School in Croydon. They used to come along to the kickboxing classes to work out and use the ring and bags. Adam was always really pleasant and knowledgable, and is a fantastic pad-man. There were no airs and graces and they both came along to our shows and supported us. I even have a video of a fight with Adam in my corner! My first post but felt I had to say something as so many people were slating Adam without justification. I don't think for a moment that Adam would claim to have taught David Haye to fight, but he has been with David over 10 years. To answer the op, Chris Okoh was Commonwealth Crusier Champ, and yes Adam did train Danny Williams for a period of time.
