After Brock Lesnar just won the UFC world title after only four pro fights including one defeat it made me wonder how would the likes of Ali, Lewis, Foreman and maybe even the Klitschko brothers all fair against him in an MMA fight. Personally I think that all the boxers win by KO but I would not of thought a boxer could beat a top UFC fighter untill saterday.

MMA Match - Brock Lesnar wins 16 out of 20 times.
Boxing Match - Ali wins 1,000 out of 1,000

Are you kidding?! The man has no boxing skills whatsoever, any decent-sized heavyweight with a decent chin in history boxes rings round that big dunce. Lewis, Vitali Klitschko, Larry Holmes, Muhammad Ali - those four would embarrass him.

It is the same every time. In a boxing ring the boxer wins in a MMA fight the MMA Fighter wins, so why should they be compared? It's like saying who is better Floyd Mayweather or Tiger Woods?

What are they fighting in boxing or WWF!??
Come on guys, when their boxing careers were going down the pan neither Ali nor Tyson chose not to prostitute themselves for the WWE freak show-or rather the WWF as it was then called.Ali also went 12 rounds,in a pathetic exhibition with the very scared pro-wrestler Antonio Inoki. The blood clots in legs he got from Inoki's kicks hastened his declined as a fighter.
Brock has a good amateur wrestling background. So,at the very least,he has solid credentials as a competitive athlete.
Personally,I would pick the bigger punchers such as the Foremans, the Listons and the Tyson to do better in MMA. A low centre of gravity would really help here. The likes of an Ali or Holmes could offer mobility and put a MMA practioner off-balance when he tried to strike him,but a grappler with the size and ability to take a moderate shot could conceivably close the distance.
Way I see it is this, Ali went 15 3 minute rounds with Inoki in what was a legit shoot fight (Ali wore gloves, Inoki didnt). Inoki for all intents and purposes was just a wrestler with a background in Judo, and despite being the heavywieght champion of the world, Ali landed somewhere around 2-6 punches the entire fight, yet somehow it was a "draw"...
Yes it was 15 rounds. In fairness to Ali ,Inoki was lying on his back for most of the bout.

Because Ali's people set it up that way. Per Dave Meltzer (he's covered pro wrestling in an industry newsletter since the early 1980s and now covers MMA as well):

The most famous boxer of all time made numerous appearances at pro wrestling events in the United States, Japan and once in North Korea. Ali was even a referee at the first WrestleMania in 1985.
Ali was the only boxer besides Mayweather to do a high-profile pro wrestling match while still in his prime, when he faced Antonio Inoki on July 25, 1976, at Budokan Hall in Tokyo in a match broadcast on closed-circuit television throughout the U.S.
The match was supposed to be scripted, with Ali losing. At the last minute, Ali got cold feet and the match almost fell apart. To save the event,Inoki agreed to fight for real, with a rule set that was akin to fighting in a straitjacket. Inoki couldn’t punch because he wasn’t wearing gloves. He couldn’t kick while standing. He couldn’t use throws, nor use any submissions. So he spent 15 rounds laying on his back throwing kicks to Ali’s legs. The match, officially called a draw, was a farce, but in Japan it is considered one of the most famous pro wrestling matches ever, as well as the birth of mixed martial arts.
Boxer vs. Wrestler. Andre the Giant was asked this and said the wrestler wins, and I posted why in a youtube video a few posts up where he shows exactly why. The boxer only knows how to punch, that's it. He can't do anything else.

I've read about the Andre stuff many times before.I know what the likely outcome is between a great wrestler and a great boxer.(BTW I don't consider Andre to be a great wrestler even though in his peak,if you could call someone a freak of nature, that would be him) My understanding is that the "fight" between Ali and Inoki was going to be a work.At the last moment it was changed into a real life with all the stipulations,as per Tomas Hauser in his biography of Ali.My understanding, though, was that Inoki couldn't use his wrestling and had to just rely on his strikes. He was frightened about getting punched by Ali and so lay on his back.Still, it was a very bad idea and a pathetic exhibition from both men.
I'm saying this even though I've never seen the full fight.I've only seen some photos and clips and read the ringside reports.I don't know whether I want to spend approximately 50 minutes of my life, that I would never get back, watching that.

It is 100 times easier to get your hands on someone to take them down, than it is to land a knockout punch before they get their hands on you. It is also 100 times easier to learn how to keep your guard up and fire off a jab to close the gap, than it is to learn how to defend a takedown from a top wrestler.
Boxers aren't even close to being the best strikers, let alone be very effective MMA fighters. It's entirely too limited, and entirely too dependant on the fight taking place under boxing's strict rules. Unless you have takedown defense on the level of a World Class wrestler... you can't bounce around and box in an MMA match. A boxing stance makes you the easiest takedown bait possible.
An MMA artist is going to beat a boxer in an MMA fight... it's as simple as that. A great Muay Thai fighter would even destroy a boxer on their feet in an MMA fight. A world class boxer WILL beat them all in a boxing match.

I was writing specifically about the Wepner-Andre match.
BTW it's not particularly obvious in a kickboxing environment how the likes of a peak Tyson,Foreman,Lewis or Liston say would have done and ,NO, old men such as light-punching Francois Botha or hepatitis ravaged Ray Mercer do not count.

It depends on the sport!
All Ali could realy do is punch [albeit it very, very, well]. In mma punching is the dominant striking skill set, but it's still only a small fraction of the overall mma game. I think there is a chance that Ali could catch brock in the initial free moving stage, but an educated wrestler like brock, would play to his strength's and rush in for the shoot and take ali down.
Although ali is very strong, brock lesner would be far stronger with an obviously superior grappling game - and in that range Ali would sink. Once on the ground Brock would ground - and - pound, untill the ref stoped it. I suspect the fight wouldn't last one round.
In boxing however Brock might last a few round's but that's it.....

Ali would crush Lesnar, cause in a boxing fight Lesnar is not even as skilled as Kimbo Slice which isn't that good either, but he is slow while punching , telagraphs his punch from a mile away, and can only come straight ahead, and while Lesnar has a good chin he would not be able to take a shot from a true pro fighter, the speed and power from Ali's punches would break down Lesner and he would be KO'ed inside 6 rounds.

Boxing fans are unbelievably ignorant when it comes to MMA. Lesnar destroys Ali in an MMA match just as easily as Ali destroys Lesnar in a boxing match.

in a boxing fight lesnar wins by wide UD, Ali would not have the hand speed to match brock

lesnare clearly beats them all in mma and they will beat him in boxing this thread is pointless and dumb.
