From my very limited American view , I'd have to favor Garay, having danced well with Erdei on two occassions and an easy victory over another southpaw in Barashian. Any Euro thoughts appreciated. Some of you guys know your stuff.

I got my money on Brähmer but I´m not confident with my pick.

Garay is an extremely strong fighter, if he comes in his usual shape, I would not be surprised if it ended around round 9-11.

Garay by TKO.

Brähmer has by far the superior skills, but talent alone is not enough to make a good fighter. Brähmer could actually have been a poor mans version of Roy Jones, and I mean this in a very positive sense, because not many fighters are talented enough to even become a poor mans version of Roy Jones...

Brähmer lacks determination and focus. He's simply not a champ, compared to f.example fighters like Arthur Abraham, who are less talented but have that champion mentality that makes them give their best in the ring and in training. Garay will have to pressure Brähmer, he will have to brawl and go to war - and that's exactly how Garay fights. Brähmer won't like it, will he crumble and go into a defensive shell when the going gets rough and tough? Brähmer lacks that champ mentality, he's not willing to put it all on the line, that's why he will never be as successfull as he could be... will Garay be the one to stop him? I don't know, but if he can fight his fight he has a very good chance...

This is happening tonight, right?

Shouldn't this place be buzzing with interest for it?

UD for Garay. 118-110 (US judge), 117-111 (France), 116-115 (Panama)

I had it 117-111 for Garay. The judge from Panama must've seen another fight. :blood Garay simply outworked Braehmer. Big.

I had it also 117-111 for Garay.

He made a very smart fight. He won the fight with those three first rounds. After that nobody could give the fight to Braehmer.

I was worried he was gonna get tired, but he actually kept the high tempo through the whole fight. Not the finest boxing I've seen, but it was a great fight to watch, and it's always nice to see someone like Garay who really wants to win.

Good guess,sean!

I for my part thought that Braehmer would be able to spoil Garay's party.

Garay vs Braehmer was a feast for our sore eyes, dont you thinks so! Very entertaining fight!

Braehmer wasnt able to cope with Garay's relentless pressure. I guess he didnt stick to his game plan.

IMO he punched above his weight. He should move down to supermiddle where he can be a threat to all elite fighters there.

According to the news Garay has beens signed up by Braehmer's promoter Kohl. He will probably face Braehmer in a rematch next year.
Garay has stated that he would like to face Braehmer's stable mate Erdei in a third encounter.
Anyway! Whether the Argie faces Erdei or Braehmer I am looking forward to his fights. He has a quite entertaining style. He and Braehnmer seem to be made for each other.

Garay vs Braehmer 2 would be pointless IMO. Braehmer should move back down to 168.

I also think that he punched above his weight,but.........would you decline an offer for a world title shot, lfc??

Too much stabbing is going one behind the stage. Braehmer must make his own decisions. He is the master of his own fate and has to make use of his sword when the right time has come.

No, but Braehmer would have been better off staying at 168 and wait for a shot at the winner of Pascal vs. Froch or Inkin vs. Balzsay.

And Erdei also wants to get rid of Kohl. since he expressed how disappointed he was after UBP failed to arrange a unification, Kohl does not care about Erdei.

Actually, I am very sad Garay signed with them, because they will make a fool of him also - just remember how enthusiastic many people was when Erdei - a heavy underdog - schooled Gonzalez. If they will manage Garay the way they usually do it, it's just a waste of time. He should have signed with Sauerland instead of Universum.

I am not convinced it will be so easy for Kohl to get rid of Erdei. Both Erdei and Garay became better fighters since their last encounter, the former does not have stamina problems any more, the latter became more experienced...

Very great match-up, Garay has more chance, but don't count Erdei out. I am afraid this time we could see controversy again, but this time Garay could benefit from it.
