Even though he loss, he was handling Brock pretty well if you look at the size disadvantage and if Randy held up throughout the fight, he could of won the fight. He showed that he clearly has better wrestling skills and might have the best wrestling skills in MMA history becuase Brock also has good wrestling skills, was stronger than Randy and very athletic and Couture was still getting the best of him in the grappling department.
yes Randy did better then I thought, but I don't think he was getting the better of him.

This thread should be titled, Lesnar looked bad and still became champion. He looked very sluggish out there from the outset, very nervous..And no nothing that Randy did physically made him sluggish...Lesnar just didnt have the bounce and was very tight.
As a matter of fact, Randy did exactly what he needed to do, just cant handle Brock thats all.

I agree with Canibus. To be honest... I told all of my friends that I was afraid Randy would misjudge Brock's reach and quickness, and that Brock would catch him with a right hand, and pounce on him. However... I thought that it would happen very early in the fight. With the way the fight was going, it looked like Randy had everything going in his direction. Brock was starting to look weathered, and Randy looked like his gameplan was working. Then.,,, he misjudged Brock's reach and quickness and took a shot behind the ear. Randy did well... honestly better than I was expecting. Brock did very well too, considering the way that the fight went and the huge experience gap.

Brock has become HW champ with a 2-1 record. Amazing stuff.

Had the fight continued to have been the wrestling contest it was throughout the first and early parts of the second round, Couture would have handled his own, but would have lost a decision, he simply couldn't do a thing with Lesnar that was effective, other than to protect his own self by being so close to the much bigger, stronger man.
At first I thought maybe Couture would have won it, considering Lesnar looked a bit "off" and not himself, not having the usual aggression he shown against Mir and Herring, but once that shot behind Couture's ear happened I knew it was all over with...why the fuck the referee didn't stop the fight sooner is beyond me, poor Randy's head was bouncing off the canvas with each and every blow (looked to me like 20-30 unanswered punches).
Well hes Randy Couture he was the Champ and a legend I suppose the ref felt he was deserving of a chance to recover.

Yeah i noticed......that Brock didnt look good in winning. His potential his huge........think he will lose to Nog though (no shame in that) most likely beat Mir in a rematch.
Whilst strong..............never underestimate.........skill in grappling....as randy showed he can be contained.
