Are you saying that if they didn't make an article about Chavez that he is NOT an ATG?
All it proves is that they feel he has legitimate shots against ATG based on styles. Beating an ATG doesn't make you an ATG. That's based on accomplishments. Pacman has some things to do first.

What is your point? And yes I have seen a few comparing Floyd to the greats and such. They are comparing Pac to the greats because he is on a roll right now and has a chance to be up there with them one day. As is, I don't see how they have him beating Olivares, but otherwise I don't disagree strongly with it.
You're making stupid conclusions that Pac is an ATG just because someone made an article about him in a hypothetical matchup with a few.
Pac is an ATG because he makes the 2 other modern Great look like a shot fighter. He earned it in the ring. The Ring Article just back it up.

Morales and Barrera. He gave Barrera an asswhooping, but Barrera just did not look like himself that night if I'm being honest. Against a near prime Morales he got badly outboxed, and it wasn't until he faced a fading Morales that he won the rematch, and against a shot Morales he won the 3rd fight.
Good wins, but these guys weren't at their best. He sure didn't look as impressive against Marquez after the first round.

No, he is not an ATG just cuz he came from 106. You can't have it both ways. I am not counting his losses there against good but not great fighters as much because that was not his natural weight. Isn't that the reason you guys say he lost?
If it wasn't his natural weight and is the excuse for his losses, then NO, he gets no credit for coming up from that weight and fighting larger fighters cuz according to you guys, he wasn't naturally that weight.
He is not an ATG yet in my book.

You're getting on me about making excuses for the win over MAB and EM but you're making excuses for his boxing lesson at the hands of EM in the first fight and JMM. You have no reason, you call someone else out for the same thing you are doing. You're a fucking hypocritc. You're just as bad for Pac fans as Bigtime9 is for Floyd fans.
Also, stop with the gay ass emoticons you child, you look like such a fucking immature twat. I'm done talking to your stupid ass anyway, you have no reason whatsoever. I have a feeling you'll commit suicide when Pac loses.
you made me laugh everytime you showed your stupidity in this forum.:lol:
first of all, em won on the first fight. true. not controversial, nothing special. you dont brag when someone won courtesy of someone who couldnt see :lol: COMMON SENSE please :-( and that excuse of pac was proven NOT ONLY ONCE BUT TWICE :good
jmm was a difficult to explain because alot of you guys are jumping like morons when he got the GIFTED DRAW. going to that fight, pac busted his left hand after the first round with blisters on his sole. YES IT IS AN EXCUSE and when pac was asked for a rematched he said "yes" but when jmm was asked if he also likes to rematch, he said " i will talk to nacho":lol:
see... he so scared he knows he got a gift and doesnt want to shit his pants again. he got malaria instead. well he also chickened out from guzman :good
AND PLEASE you have to stick this in your pea brain sweet pea that MAB, JMM, EM kissed the canvass many many times courtesy of a 1-d man who came from 106 :good IT IS MIND BOGGLING ISNT IT? :hey SO IF YOU STILL THINK PAC IS NOTHING, then sweet pea i cant help you witht that brain of yours :lol:
and if pac loses someday, i am sport. ill give what is due. it is just our time and we have the bragging rights.... not a stupid fan who doesnt have the BRAGGING RIGHTS. you know DEFINITELY KNOW WHO THEY ARE :good

Pacman isn't #2 based on his wins at 130. He is based on his wins overall and people in front of him losing (remember Hopkins).
Do YOU know the meaning of "even at"? You quoted the part that says he didn't hang out at FW, as though it justified something that may or may not happen at 130. You tell ME what the hell that meant.
And Chavez defended his SFW belt 9 times or so. How many has Pacman defended his? Things stay in context....i don't deal with analogies that work in vacuums.

[quote=Sweet Pea]I said Pac was nothing? I believe I just said he was the #2 P4P fighter in the world.
You made excuses for his losses, and then got mad and cried when I made excuses for his wins, so that makes you a hypocrite. And again, if you laugh everytime I show my stupidity, why am I the guy you officially called you favorite, most knowledgable poster? Owned. You have nothing to say to that. You agree with me on everything but when I say you overrate Pac you jump down my throat.
knowing the history of boxing is different from " picking a great fighter who didnt prove anything at a certain weight over a pound per pound number 2 (with that weight) in THE WHOLE BOXING COMMUNITY ...." THAT IS A PLAIN MORONOCITY.

This is something very interesting. I have always said that Pac would/will have a lot of problems in winning a fight by decission against great/elite boxers. In other words, if Pac doesn't tko/ko his opponents, then he will have problem and therefore a long night.
According to ring they only see Pac winning one of the fights by decission (against Elorde). Ring also see Pac defeating Olivares on cuts, which means, if this doesn't happen, then he would probably lose the fight by decission...isn't it? By the way, I think Olivares woud beat him at 122 as well as 126.
The list above only shows 10 boxers, what about the rest at that wightclass? That would be interesting as well.
When it comes to comparing a boxer agains another boxer and trying to predict the outcome in a dream match, the record/resume of a boxer won't necessary will tell you the thruth. It is more aboout styles.

Some of those guys would be hard to KO....Pep, Saddler, Sanchez...and arguably the greatest fighter ever in Henry Armstrong.
Pacman has great tenacity, but some of these guys you wouldn't be able to beat without great skill regardless of power, speed, or any other physical attribute. Pep especially.

I agree with you. Pac pressures his opponents and use speed and power to win a fight. However, not all the boxers will fall, and those who can stand and take his punches and have great skills would/will beat Pac. Also the type of boxers who are slick, and I am not talking about the type of boxers like SRL or PBF I am talking about Corey Spinks type of boxer.
There are other type of styles that I believe could defeat Pac. Not including the styles like the ones that SRL, PBF, Camacho, etc etc etc had.
1- Boxers that have height (pac said after his fight against Solis that his height gave him troubles), reach advantage, good chin and skills. These type of boxers can fight in the centre of the ring. Example...Monzon, Arguello etc, etc etc....
2- Boxers who can suffocate or put a lot of pressure on their opponents. Of course they have to have good chin, Example...Duran, Pryor, Hatton, Cotto (eventhough people say his chin is not that good) etc, etc, etc.

By constant pressure plus inhumane power and stamina, even a rock will crack. MAB and Morales had one of the best ever chins P4P and they folded like nothing against Pac.
Larios was at the best ever shape of his life while Pac prepared only 3-weeks for that fight. He normally trains for 6-8 weeks.

hehehe.. that was my point long before.. its easy to excite the huggers with match ups like that. Thats why i hate it when people do these mythical pairings, (maybe they're expecting professional analysis), because it always ends up as forum trashing. The fighter then ends up being the loser because instead of gaining fans, they get bashed because of their die hard fans. And then the opportunistic haters comes in...don't take it seriously i suggest, cause its really something to laugh about if your just an observer.:yep

it was a simple mistake and you could have got yourself off the hook if you just admitted it.
You're very wrong. :tong

Pacquiao by TKO as long as he has the right socks and gloves. He is invincible with the puncher's gloves and expensive well made sporting socks.
He'd beat all of them and a paternity suit on the same day, then beat everyone in the pool hall at 8 ball, and outsing everyone on the Karaoke.

On esb PAC is way underrated by most people. In general though i think his rating is pretty well established

Completely disagree. I think people that overrate him state that he is underrated here. On what grounds is he underrated on ESB? By comparison to other fighters?

Pacman isn't an ATG yet, he needs some more solid wins: more quantity of wins over ranked contenders of his era. He has the ability of an All Time Great, though.
He has been successful climbing up weight classes, but hasn't dominated any yet. He doesn't have dominance and longevity in any weight class. I think he can achieve that at Jr. Lightweight.

How can some people say that Pacman is an ATG at Featherweight? :rofl
It's ok to compare him to ATGs, and he may win fights over past ATGs, but that doesn't mean that he is right now an ATG. Fuck, Wlad could beat Ezzard Charles and Jim Jeffries, but it doesn't mean he is as great as Charles or Jeffries.
Pac was in the Featherweight division for only 2 years. He had a great win over Barrera, but then also wins over Yeshmaganbetov (?), Emmanuel Lucero, 3K Battery and a draw against JM Marquez. Just because a win over Barrera you can't rank Pacquiao high at Featherweight. No way.
As I said, Pac hasn't been really a dominant champ in any weight class yet. He doesn't have a reign like Duran at Lightweight, like Lewis at Heavyweight, like Armstrong at Welterweight; not even like Tszyu at Light Welterweight; not even like Mayweather at Jr. Lightweight.

For me, the standard at Super Feather/Jr Light is set by 2 fighters. Arguello and Mayweather. No one has reached this standard yet. Pacman has the potential. But fighting MAB is not the way to get there. Remember, Pacman has yet to face a champion in this weight class. He certainly can beat them.....

Pac has yet to face a live elite fighter with a hearbeat except for Barrera
( although some might argue that Barrera/hamed was the last of his prime) and we all know what happened when pac faced a live fighter in Marquez ( spanked like a little one dimensional kid that he is )... O yea, he also got worked up by a over the hill El Terrible so as far as i'm concerned, pac shouldnt be mentioned with the other legends from the past. Sure he still has a few good years left in him so he does have a chance to reach that status but until then, he will always be a crude fighter who was always at the right place at the right time..
ledwaba (superbantam) and sasakul (flyweight) were certainly elite when pac ko'd them. but we're talking about featherweight here...

Where do you see the term " lucky " because I never said that.
Pac came at a time when the Mexican legends were on their way out so in a way, you can say that he was fortunate enough to have come at the right time.
fortunate=lucky. you're more stupid than i initially thought

Main Entry: lucky
Pronunciation: 'l&-kE
Function: adjective
Inflected Form(s): luck·i·er; -est
1 : having good luck
2 : happening by chance : FORTUITOUS
3 : producing or resulting in good by chance : FAVORABLE
4 : seeming to bring good luck <a lucky rabbit's foot>
- luck·i·ness /'l&-kE-n&s/ noun
synonyms LUCKY, FORTUNATE, HAPPY, PROVIDENTIAL mean meeting with unforeseen success. LUCKY stresses the agency of chance in bringing about a favorable result <won because of a lucky bounce>. FORTUNATE suggests being rewarded beyond one's deserts <fortunate in my investments>. HAPPY combines the implications of LUCKY and FORTUNATE with stress on being blessed <a series of happy accidents>. First he ranks out from In Jin Chi and now he's punking out from Soto for a irrelevant rematch against Barrera? Run pacman run.:patsch

But yes, Filipinos are having more success in this sport currently and that's because most pinoy boxers come from poverty where boxing is their only way out whereas Korean don't have to take beatings for a living because they can make good money on the desk.HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU BEEN BANNED?

We are in the same boat according to the G7 with Korea just a few years ahead
Dont let their POS car Hyundai and Samsung fool you..those are the worst brands to buy
the Philippines was hit with corruption and we are just recovering...our economy is growing close to 8% in 2008 and 09.. We have the biggest business process outsourcing in Asia.
Give us 10 years
Meanwhile we'll keep beating up on non existent South Korean Boxers..
I got love for both countries(My grandmother is Filipino, my sister in law is from South Korea). So hopefully the Filipino economy keeps growing, and South Korea produces more fighters

Don't say shit you have no idea about. Chi got cheated out of his money by his promoters so that's why he's leaving the sport.
A bitch ass doesnt usually go 12 rounds with a prime Morales. Unlike PAcman who was looking for a way out, crying .. :|
fact both pac and chi lost to EM be decision. pac's loss was a lot closer than chi lost
also a fact, pac ko'd em twice.
what were you saying again boy? in jin chi won't defeat the version of morales in his 2nd fight against pac.

Linares had nothing to do with it. Chi was having major problems with his promoters so that's why he relinquished his belt.
