£1500 to get your ass kicked. Thats absolutely shocking.
What the hell is the point in paying heavier weight classes more? Gonzaga got paid way more than Florian who had a tougher match, and tends to be just as, if not more entertaining.
Odd.

Its the glamour division. Historically the heavies have always been paid more. That pretty much is a given.

NOPE! You think Dana is giving his fighters PPV options! Dana is a PRICK! $250K for Randy is chump change and a pioneer like that deserves more respect and more pay.:-(

Better pay then usual but the Gonzaga thing confuses me how does he get a 55 thousand dollar win bonus ? They must have had him sign a big contract after his rape of Cro Cop.

Actually Randy does get PPV % points, and has on at least 2 documentated occasions in one year cashed $500,000 checks outside of his fight purses.
The fighters earn more money from payment other than fight purses than they do from their actual reported purses.

Yes sir I mean does anyone think the put all them sponsership stickers all of their shorts because they think it looks cool or they thank them after fights just for the hell of it ? They make solid money off that and the PPV points like you said im not sure what it is now ive heard it was like 1 dollar for every PPV buy for guys on the main card or something. That said even if it is just 250,000 believe me id love that. Randys got money out the ass anyway anyone ever seen his gym fees ? Its like 350 bucks a money to train there and 1,000 dollars for a private session for him an hour.

The problem are for the small guys who makes 50k for example.
Now take away trainer fees or cost of training
Insurance
taxes
miscellaneous expenses
All I can say is that I hope they dont party hard after a victory and treat everyone because theyll be broke the next day

MMA promotion is still in it's infancy. Think of these as the days when boxing was controlled by Blinky Palermo and the IBC (if I remember the initials correctly). The only answer is to have the fighters break away and promote themselves ala Gloden Boy Promotions.

you have to make a mark first b4 u can promote yourself.. Even Frank Shamrock took a big step back financially promoting himself..

Well.... they could be fighting at local events for 300 bucks. They could also go into roofing if making thousands of dollars for one fight isn't good enough. People always bash on the UFC for their pay rates, yet don't realize that they also push for advertisements and sponsership money to get these guys even more money for fighting on their big stage. Not only that... but do you think that maybe this is why the UFC didn't crumble like every other org? These guys are plenty taken care of. For the undercard guys who fight for what seems like a small amount... shit, I can't think of any minor league MMA fighter out there who wouldn't cut off their pinky toe for a chance to fight in the UFC for a few grand.

Thats what it is..the future prospect of hitting it bigtime, being in the main event.....Everyone knows it 1 to 100 shot of earning 250k but its worth it...same as if you liek to act or paint or play music instead of working in the corporate world.. Its also cool, these guys gets pussies..Im sure some does it for that as well.
Guys like Baroni, medium guys...they are broke,..probably better to know when to hang it up and stop getting their brains beat up
I think this is always brought up because of the comparison to high end boxers who make more. People don't realize that most boxers on Tuesday night fights make nothing as well, any low end fighter doesn't make much until they jump up the rankings, ufc or boxing.

Yeah pretty piss poor payday for both i feel..
Randy v Brock was a very big fight that garnered alot of publicity and ppv buyers..
MMA is still seriously lagging behind when it comes to MMA VS BOXING salaries.
A shot rrj is still getting 10-15 times more then main event MMA fighters.Very dissapointing..
