Since Tarvers talks with Dawson are off . Tarver and Green has moved one giant step closer according to Green’s agent Angelo Hyder.
``I believe there will be an announcement soon,’’ Hyder said.
``There’s not too many light-heavyweights who can generate the excitement and income Green can in Perth with a fight like that filling Subiaco Oval there and a crowd of 30,000.’’
It is believed Green has offered Tarver 100 per cent of all American TV revenue for the bout.

Fight could happen,as it is true that not any of the other top light heavies could fill and 30plus thousand stadium on their name alone..
Like him or not danny could fill a stadium in w.a. no troubles..

Hopefully tarver sees this as a easy couple of million and comes down under..

Dont rate Tarver much but would still be good to see some worldranked boxing action...

Also would love to see a ozzie give to a yank in our backyard....

ozzie ozzie ozzie oi oi oi...:bbb

Green smashes Tarver.

work the numbers though, $2mUS is shit loads! you would need s0,000 people for Green to make money. it's fine to buy a title but no fighter should fight for nothing. too many things can go wrong. anwya he'll have my 100 bux for a ticket!!

After watching some of that Muriqui v Tarver fight my opinion of Tarver has changed alot. I see Green with an excellent chance in this fight if it happens.

Dumb question - how does Green offering 100% of US TV revenues help if the fight is in Perth? That would mean the fight would be on at 9 in the morning stateside - I've never heard of any fight being on that early. I guess they could show it on tape delay, but Showtime probably wouldn't pay as much for a delayed fight.

In any case, Tarver is on his way down, and Green might have a shot if he can keep his chin out of the way. Tarver's a stronger puncher than Adamek, so if he tries to brawl too much, I can see Tarver winning by TKO. On the other hand, Green throws harder punches than anyone Tarver's faced recently, and can do some damage himself. I'd give Tarver a slight edge, but it's a closer fight than most American pundits would give it credit for, and it should be an exciting match either way, so I hope it happens.

Honestly Tarver has not looked good since he Ko'd Jones and even then he looked pretty average for 1 1/2 rounds, he doesnt seem to care much for his craft anymore. This is Green's best chance to beat a guy like Tarver, he is at home, he is coming off a good win and Tarver is starting to look past it.

That being said its still a real up hill battle for Danny. The milkdud still has enough moves to give Mr Roboto a very tricky fight. Plus Tarver actually has an alright chin, so its not like BANG and lights out as soon as Danny touches him.
He is going to have to work for his win.

Tarver has never ever looked really good to me, i've seen about 10 of his fights and he just hasnt impressed.

Green definitely has a chance IMO.
Tarver looked far from good against Muriqi, so should the fight come off i expect Green to prove some of his doubters wrong.
I would rather Green fight Tarver instead of like a Chad Dawson who i could see beating Green in a near shutout.

Green seems to choke (perhaps on hydraulic fluid) in front of the bigger crowds.

Got a feeling Tarver might be a bit too big for Green.

Great fight if it comes off.

Yet again Eels you have no fkn idea!

6000 in Nuringburgring or 17000 at Bell Centre, Montreal ring any bells...

no I'll answer that... "no" cause you had you head up chocs ass!!

EelsRule

Nuringburgring sort of rings a bell, though my atlas doesnt cover this region.
Isnt that where Green choked on hydraulic fluid and certain success via the most unsportsmanlike and filthy headbutt seen in the ring. Oh the crowd got to him, as well as the lack of fitness. He lost to Beyer, for heaven sack. He is the worst workd champ seen ever.

WhataRock
08-11-2007, 12:35 AM
Eels you could have almost past that off as a valid post, as your opinion warped as it may be.

But to say Beyer is the worst champ seen ever shows your lack of knowledge mate. Stupid statement.

would there still be interest in another Green Vs Beyer fight? or has Beyers KO3 to Kessler ruined his reputation?

Beyer has done more than choc ever will. His mate has too- oh that's right you don't remember choc being unconscious for 15 minutes to that feather fisted unknown guy.

I'm sure he has warmed a few benches at elite level etc. Beyer has even won and defended a real world championship a few... times shall we continue?

Are you drinking ATM, i have no idea what your piont is, and if so wheres mine :pNah not drinking, having a quite night in.

My pt is that we can argue who has done more in their sporting lives by getting them two in the ring which would settle our lil niggles at each other which was started by shiner saying Choc will never do what Beyer has ever.

Sheeit Im off to have a drink, brb

Never ever I said!! This is a boxing forum isn't it?

If you must know Beyer was also a world champion chess player!!

Mundine couldn't even get a national gurnsey in the game he says he was also the best at. End of compasion I guess.

Just heard from WBA junior middleweight Champ Joachim Alcine's promoter, that Showtime would like to set up a fight card in Montreal with Joachim Alcine vs Andrey Tsurkan and Antonio Tarver vs Danny Green. Hope this will come through...
