....when Holyfield snapped him with that left hook at the end of the first round, after the bell rang?
A popular ascertion is that Tyson emotionally quit to easy after being challenged... does that idea apply here?

Nah.........he seemed like he wanted to fight.
He got pissed at Holyfields megafuelled roid headbutts so elected to nibble on his ears.

Oh....nah, Tyson hurt Holyfield several times after that.
If Tyson did think it was over, he would have quite between the 1st and 2nd round.
He kept on fighting, because despite the rather ridiculous idea that Tyson had no heart, he was game and wanted to beat Holyfield, I'm sure the thought of quitting didn't enter Mikes mind in the fight.

He gave up after the first knockdown...especially as it came after Tyson's best round of the fight (the 5th).

That, in conjunction with the cut, messed with Tyson's head, definitely.

Personally i find the way Tyson looked up at Holyfield from the canvas as telling (later). I think he knew when his ass was on the canvas as you say.

I think Sweet Pea was saying that Tyson had more skill than Marciano.(which he did)

Tyson didn't give up in the first fight. He fought till pretty much the end, and gave Holyfield some good shots in the process.

I agree with that, Mike must've been feeling he was back into the fight then he gets a cut and a knockdown. He really seemed shaken from that, and while he kept trying he was really looking like he was running on autopilot to me for the rest of the fight.
Round 6 was the one where Tyson seemed to lose faith, not round 1.
