I hate it when some people rate guys like Mayweather with an A+ chin then say Gatti or Cotto have a B or C chin, Ill never understand things like that, Gatti has been hit with harder and far more shots in one round than Mayweather has done in the whole of hes hardest fight against DLH. You can rate Mayweathers chin because hes only ever been caught with big shots on a handful of occasions, has anybody ever seen a combination land flush on hes jaw??? NO?! then why are people saying he has an iron chin??

Rant over :dead and Gatti and Cotto can take a fucking punch :deal we dont know if Gayfeather can yet.

Mayweather does not have a better chin than Gatti, Gatti gets dropped and stopped, but after a barrage and it's because he has a very non-existant defence and takes everything.

But is Gatti iron chinned? No, he does however have a "great chin", a very notable one, the guy can take a shot without a doubt.

Mayweather has a better chin that Cotto, only a few times has he been buzzed, and he does get hit, as with every boxer. Cotto has great recovery powers, but his chin overall is average in my opinion.

Cotto is also much tougher.

mayweather has an alright chin to my knowledge but when have you seen him get hit cleanly over and over.

cotto i feel has a decent chin but his approach to the fight is jaw striaght out infront of him and he gets caught with it...exciting and smooth but his defence is waht gives him the 'weak chin' theory.

and gatti could take heck of a punch...even if you get dropped doesnt mean you have a weak chin. a good example would be eubank/s(for all the disputers) he was dropped around 6 times but he was rarely phased or hurt.
benn-dropped got tagged right on the temple dropped got up and started having an arguement with the ref...about being a slip.
watson- fell down through exhaustion just loads of pressure and heat made him drop to his knees...this isnt his chin
calzaghe- got smacked right on the jaw line and went girder legged. got up in 3 secs.

chin is hard to understand becuase it's not a skill or a trait it's just somthing that happens

Yes, that punch that landed on Calzaghe was a peach of a punch, twisted his whole body around, a fighter with a bad chin would have been KOed flat.
