Couldn't see a thread on this.
He's pulled out because of flu.

What a surprise.... another SN card going down the tubes. So, it'll be Foster fighting Mitchell or similar then?
****** says Enzo will now headline the show -
FLU TAKES ITS TOLL ON COOK
By Phil Barnett, PA Sport
Nicky Cook has been forced to pull out of his WBO super-featherweight title defence against Stephen Foster Jr next month due to flu.
The Dagenham fighter had been set to make his first appearance since winning the belt from Scot Alex Arthur in September by taking on Salford man Foster at the Excel Arena in London on December 6.
But following "professional medical advice", according to promoters Sports ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) Network, Cook has been ruled out.
"I'm absolutely devastated that I won't be able to defend my title for the first time and especially as it's in my backyard," the Essex fighter said.
"I returned to training last week but it was clear that I had missed too many training sessions to catch up and I just felt really weak because of the flu.
"I can't let my heart rule my head and it's important that I'm 100% fit and ready to defend my title rather than lose it and come out with excuses."
Cook had been set to headline a show also featuring Amir Khan in his return to the ring following defeat in September and Enzo Maccarinelli's bid to win the vacant WBO cruiserweight title against Johnathon Banks.
Maccarinelli, returning after losing to David Haye in March, will now top the bill in London supported by Khan's clash with Irishman Oisin Fagan.
Promoter Frank ****** was philosophical about Cook's withdrawal.
"Obviously this is unfortunate, but these things happen in boxing and Nicky needs to be fully fit to defend his title," he said.
"Enzo now headlines the show and is in a real hard fight against Banks. We have worked hard to get him a world title opportunity on his first fight back and now it is down to him to do the business in the ring.
"There's a lot of interest in Amir's big return and to see how he comes back after his first loss, but he has gone to America and trained with one of the best in Freddie Roach and we will see how he has progressed."

I still think it is a good card, when you consider that the de la hoya - pac-man fight and its undercard (which is good) is supposedly included in the PPV deal.

I'm not too broken up about not seeing Cook fight, but it's good to see he made a sensible choice and didn't come in depleted or weight drained.
Agree.
It's a blow to ****** though as Cook would have sold tickets with it being in his backyard and his first defence.
Edit sorry forgot about the ODLH v Pac fight.

Same here - The other fights are quite interesting, and i am expecting a good fight in the enzo - banks fight (should have been the headline bout anyway).

Do we know if the Juan Manuel Lopez fight will be shown on the PPV in the UK?

Disapointing for Cook. It would have been nice to see him defend his title successfully at least once.

In a strange way, this might be the best thing to happen to Cook.
Hopefully a mandatory will come around soon and force ****** to shelve the joke fight with Foster.

that is a bit nuts that enzo wasnt the headline fight in the first place.

Your grammar is shocking!
Neither were genuine world title affairs anyway - in truth it is Khan that is headlining. Cook was in name only.

Cook was a lot more local and Britains ''only world champ''...
