Whoops! No chance of claiming personal on that! Intent to supply or conspiracy to supply a controlled substance. 6 years unless they have evidence of him selling.

Britain has gone Floyd Snr mad! Everyone's trying to emulate him:)

Actually, I don't think it is "conspiracy to..." if they have the physical evidence, is it?

Just seen this myself.

Have we ever had an Olympic boxing squad with such a blend of success and disaster like this before?

Shame... he is a good fighter. He had the perfect manager taking charge of his career too.

Is that the pikey?

Nah the pikey is Billy Joe Saunders (confuses me a lot too)

Had to laugh at Terry Edwards (Team GB coach) on Bunces Boxing Hour last week when discussing what the olympic lads were doing now "Billy Joe Saunders is probably in a field somewhere riding one of his horses"

As for Bradley Saunders, bad news, waste of a talent, easy trap to fall in these days

I think he'll get 6 and do 3-4. All depends on his record and previous though really, doesn't it?

EDIT: Fuck me!! 100 grand?!

Well done to Billy Joe Saunders for reinforcing the negative stereotypes of pikey scumbags.

Different one mate, Billy Joe Saunders is the traveller, Bradley Saunders is the lad from the north east.

Yeah wasnt it Bradley Saunders who got in trouble for bad behaviour in the hotel?

Or was that Billy Joe Saunders (the traveller), getting confused now!

Saunders has denied any knowledge of the coke.

Speaking from his parents' home in Sedgefield, County Durham, Saunders said he had been relaxing with his girlfriend after a training session when police arrived with a search warrant at his home in Sedgefield at 1pm yesterday.

"I asked them what did they want and told them to wait so that I could ring my mam, because I wanted a witness, but before I could they all burst in ... They'd finished going through my house and they were on their way out when they went through to the back garden. I'm having the house done up and the back garden is being stripped, so there is nothing out there but dirt and grass.

"Right next to the back gate was a sheet of white plastic, like a bin bag, and when they lifted it up underneath was a kind of metal biscuit tin just laid on the grass. They opened it up and said: 'What's this powder?' We were handcuffed and arrested and taken to Spennymoor police station, where we were each locked up and left in a cell for six hours."

"There was never anything in that garden," Saunders added. "I know nothing about any drugs. I have never had a criminal record. I earn a decent living and have been getting paid since I was 13 years old for boxing. There is no reason for me to be involved in drugs.

"Since the Olympics I've been the victim of quite a lot of crime. My house was burgled recently as my girlfriend and I slept. People get jealous. They can take against you."

So when did this happen? If it was in the last couple of days it could be powdered paint or something daft.

Unlikely of course. If it is Charlie, he is talking bollocks and knew it was there.

I don't think sniffer dogs pick those up.

Who knows. The police had obviously had a tip off to be there with a sniffer dog in the first place so either him or his mrs are known to the police for having large quantities of coke, or someone grassed them up, or someone planted the coke and grassed them up. I have absolutely no local or inside knowledge from which to form an opinion and I doubt many people on this site have either.

Ohhh, of course, sniffer dogs. Never thought of that but the article never mentions dogs and only says one of the dibble lifted a bag and found the biscuit tin.

I was thinking though (forgot to add this to my post, though I meant to) that if the powder hadn't yet been tested, it could be anything.
Copper don't go round tasting drugs they find like in the movies (well, DS might).

Saying that though, Cocaine looks and feels extremely different to powdered paint.

It is not true that if it is coke he knew it was there. When dealers stash large amounts, you think they want to use their own property?

Water proof bags hidden in other peoples gardens, nearby parks etc are pretty common. Provided it is a secure spot that wont be stumbled across and in view of the house...

Also people get paid to hold stuff or bullied into it. A holder keeps all the drug equipment at their home and never has callers or visitors, there is simply no trade operating out of their home, and the dealer organises the deals from their address and draws all attention (of any that may be drawn) to their drug free home.

If Saunders' prints or DNA are on the inside bag he is fucked. If he did it and used surgical gloves to handle every plastic cover, and so on....
He wont get as long, they will struggle to prove it is his.

If it is coke they will know from the smell. Even if it is very very weak coke that is border line fake, it will almost certainly smell of novacaine that is used to make a buyers gums go numb (on a gum test before buying) to imply strength.

Good point there mate, a big crack dealer round this way just got done and it was in the local paper that he'd been stashing some gear in a old womans garden.

That's a very good point.

EDIT: And so is the rest of that and your next post. Novacaine doesn't really smell of anything though, especially when mixed with Coke or in a rock of crack but yeah, as you said, Cocaine does give off a slight smell.

Would have to be someone with a pretty big grudge or a pretty strong reason for wanting them out they way. 300g, that's the best part of ten grand the owner of that coke (assuming it really is) has just kissed goodbye to!

Hehe. Yeah. Imagine if he had just found it one day while pottering around in the garden before the dibble got there?:D

Maybe the Mafia had asked him for a dive and he had fucked them off. The Mafia though couldn't find a horse anywhere and all attempts to create a horses head with papier mache was a faliure and Tony the Interragator Ianucci was in bed with cold, so the best they could do was put a plant on him from a stash they keep in a buscuit tin. Unfortunately they couldn't get the tin lid off though so had to plant the lot.

It could happen! Anything is possible in the movi... I mean County Durham!!

If i was a dealer, the last place I'd stash my stash would be in a biscuit tin wrapped in a poly bag at the bottom of my own garden. i would at least have hidden it in next door's garden.

Billy Joe Saunders is the pikey one mate.

Bradley Saunders is from Durham.

Saw him on Setanta sports news lastnight and to be honest it does look a bit fishy, the stuff was in a tin just under a bit of plastic, neither him or his mrs have criminal records, the old bill hardly searched the inside of his house, presumably under a tip off. Also the police didnt keep him and his mrs very long (think he said they came round about 1 and were back home by 8.30) anyone who has ever been arrested will know thats not very long, they havent charged him either yet.
