According to the news Boytsov's German promoter Kohl would like to match his boy with the American Brian Minto who is well known on German shores due to his fights with Axel Schulz and Luan Krasniqui.

Both Minto and Boytsov have defeated Maddalone.

Your thoughts?? Can Minto derail Boytsov's train towards bigger stops??

Minto is a solid B level heavyweight. He's a bit small, but he gives 100%. This is a perfect test for an up and coming talent like Boystov.

Boystov should win a decision here. I am waiting for Boystov to go regain his destroyer form.

IMO, Dennis was at his best at 4 and 6 round matches. Can he fight the same way early, and then opt to box if the KO does not happen?

Also, Boystov used to have a killer hook to the body. Is he still using this punch?

Dennis should check out the old Joe Frazier or Mike Tyson tapes.

Neither are great but Boystov is maybe a little better.

He is far away from being the new Tyson. He has to prove himself and Minto is definitely a good challenge.....
Personally I don't see him wining by KO. The fight in Germany will be won by the Universum fighter on points.

The perfect opponent for Boystov. Minto is aggressive, has a good chin and decent punching power and keeps himself in top shape unlike most American heavys. He also has good head movement; he is not easy to hit flush especially early in the fight. Hopefully Boystov will work the body and try to get the K.O. Many Euro posters have talked up Boystov as actually having a better skillset than amateur sensation and undefeated pro Povetkin. I haven't seen anything approaching A.P.'s talent but hopefully Boystov will put on a career defining victory and I hope Canadians get to finally see him fight on television and not some crappy internet stream.

Boystov has faster hands and more explosive power than Povetkin does. This is true. However, he lacks the ring savvy and intelligent approach of aggressive swarming that Povektin has seems to have mastered.

In addition, Povetkin is not afraid to take a punch, or to throw many punches in a round. Boystov is more tempered with risk, and a high punch out put.

I beleive Bostov needs a new trainer, and should drop at least 10 pounds to regain the from that made him such a sensation. One cannot train Boystov like Klitschko or Dimitrenko. I would train him a bit more like the old Sultan Ibragimov, or if you prefer Chagaev. Boystov’s hook to the body is special and his cross and hook to the head are very good too. Boystov needs to work on cornering his man, and letting his hands go.

The thing is Denis turned professional as a teenager, and failed to develop strategies in the ring to adjust to fighters who are not going to be taken early out by his aggression or power.

Maybe I'm subjective when I say this, but I think that in general Universum fighters are not the best in the world even if they have the titles.
That's why I don't think that Boytsov is the next great fighter. We have to see him being challenged from e real boxer and I think you can say that for Minto.

Good fight for both of them! Both men want to step up, so let them fight to answer the question who is ready for the next level.
Both men are ranked in the top 15 of WBA and WBO, so for the winner the door will be open for the big fights!

Who???

Boytsov didnt do the wrestling.Maddone was out of puff after 2 rounds and decided to make it a wrestling match. However, you can surely blame Boytsov to play Maddone's game.
I just dont get it why he was that inactive and passive at times.Boytsov should go out with blazing guns against this kind of opponent trying to knock out his foe as soon as possible.
He should make use of his best weapons firepower and speed.

To me it seems like Minto is underrated and Boytsov is overrated looking at Maddalone as their common opponent. I think Brian very well could beat Boytsov. Minto may be smallish but he does have quick hands and effective power in both hands.

I watched the entire fight, a lot of the holding was in fact instigated by Boytsov.
