Oleg has the power to KO Peter and I for one would love to see it.

I would love to see Maskaev beat Peter just to get Duva & King out of the HW picture. Besides, Peter ain't all that.

Oleg will (probably) win, but I think by points. Peter is overrated. But Oleg will (100%) lose to Vitali.

Peter is completely overrated, he got vitrually shut out by Wlad when he wasn't cheating.

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to this fight... But how in ANY sense of the word is this a "true fight fans" fight?

Peter has yet to KO a top 25 Heavyweight. Hell, he could not even KO Glass Jaw Wlad.

I'm still on the fence but give the overrated Peter the edge.He showed he can go 12 rounds aginst Toney and not gas out. It should be a great fight.

I should be a very good fight, yes.

Too bad its on the same day as Pacquiao-Barrera 2

To pay 45 dollars or not to pay 45 dollars, that is the question

Wake up - Oleg is OLD people, and he didn't exactly have a great chin in his prime. Peter is the hardest puncher in the division.

Do the MATH:

Big Puncher + Glass Jaw = Early Knockout.

Peter is gonna DESTROY Oleg, early.......VERY early. :nod

Oleg will not stop Peter, he will not even put him down! But maybe he can hurt him a bit. But in the end its the other way around, Peter has the power to KO Maskaev. KOing Maskaev is not verry difficult if you are an good puncher with decent skill and talent. And i think Peter is such a fighter. He will be even better, more improved as in his last fight against Toney.

I gotta agree.

Im looking forward to the fight but its should be pretty messy albeit excitingly and brutally messy.

Thats what I havent liked about the heavyweight division for some time, guys are getting bigger yes but the skill is going out of it.

A glass jaw didn't stop him from losing to Rahman.

Wlad didn't lose either because of his chin.:yep

I'm with WhataRock, I expect it to be sloppy but at least hard-hitting. More of a brawl than the sweet science.

Still, it will be a title fight between two genuine top guys in the division at the moment, and that is always worthwhile. And interesting options are opened up whichever guy wins, so that's good too.

Peter has youth and chin on his side--where do you come off trying to"sell" his big punch? I agree, Oleg is tailor made for this galook, but claiming that Pete is the hardest puncher in the division? You really are over-hyping Pete. Kinda' like the Brewster hype after his so-called KO of Wlad.
There are three "old" guys that could beat Pete right now, Byrd,McCall and possibly Tua. You are not going to see these fights, however, because Pete's hot goods right now. He's no better than the 60's Chavalo.

This is gonna be an exciting fight but contrary to the rest . . . I'm picking Peters to win.

Peters had improved a lot since the first meeting with Wlad so I would like to see him fight Wlad again at this point.

The casual boxing fan won't even know these two guys are fighting, while the true fight fan will definitely not miss this one. Know what I mean bro?

I canŽt wait until the hype job Peter is over. The hardest puncher in the division???? That must be a joke. I would bet 500 bucks that Klitschko for example would have KOŽed Toney. And in two fights he wouldŽve KTFOŽed him three times. And the most entertainig thing is, that the guy who took the Sunday punch of the "hardest puncher of the division" is china chinned.:rofl

Oleg is a slow starter and that alone is enough to end this early. His only hope in this fight is backing off Peter with power. With Peter's willingness to walk straight into power shots he could conceivably get rocked early. But again peter will come out hard looking for a ko and since Maskaev never wins the early rds it spells trouble.

IMO team Peter's biggest concern will be who ref's this fight. Those shots to the back of his opponents head are dangerous and illegal. Sooner or later it is going to catch up with Peter. A lot of his koes are started or finished with illegal punches. He just can't seen to stop doing it. These fouls are a lot more obvious than Holyfelds intentional headbutting and as damageing. IMO there is a 10% chance of this fight ending in a dq caused by Peter's illegal punches. The more power shots Maskaev lands the more Peter will try to foul so the longer the fight goes on the higher the likelihood Peter become frustrated.

The pressure is all on Team Peter they were the ones doing all the talking and they are the ones who in reality have one win in their 3 big fights. Needing two fights to get one legit win over Toney exposed peter as being pretty raw not very good at landing that big punch. If he looses this one he is headed to palookaville. Rahman will have a brighter future since he has actually beat someone in his career.
