I've tried to find information about the current status of Heavyweight; David "Tuaman" Tua( New Zealand/ 49-3-1-42KO ), ...but have found nothing current!?

His Promoter promised to keep David active so He could move back into the *Rankings, and thus, be in Title contention within the year after His KO win over Saul Montana, ...BUT THAT NEVER HAPPENED! :huh

Tua stayed busy in 2007( sort of ), then could( should ) have fought Cris "The Nightmare" Arreola this year, but didn't fight in 2008 at all!
The "Tuaman" has one of the highest KO% of any boxer in History, and has NEVER lost by KO, ...so it's a damn shame if it's because of $$$!

DOES ANYONE HERE KNOW ANYTHiNG? :think

In a nutshell Willy, Tua's world has crashed around him. He is broke, been through a very messy public legal battle with his estranged management and his wife left him. Doubt he would really have his head in the right place to be fighting

I was unaware that His Wife had left Him too, ...His whole situation is a real mess then! :?

However, that bout between Him & Shane Cameron( New Zealand/ 22-1 -19KO ) could bring plenty of $$$ to both Men in Australia or New Zealand, ...I would think( and if David Tua won by KO, the $$$ he could get for His next fight would likely fix most of His financial problems )!? :deal

Tua is overrated by so many fans it's unreal. He was once a solid contender with a punch and a chin. His time has finished.

Tua is meant to be fighting Shane Cameron, A Bum who got battered by Friday Ahunanya.

If he wins he will probably get a shot at Arreola and get ktfo by that bum

Tua was a BEAST in his earlier days hes the only guy to have blowen out Ruiz and did so in 19sec. However hes his own worst enemy getting heavy between fights, and not staying busy. His fight in 09 with Cameron is a big money earner and he should approach it was a MUST WIN bout as it will springboard him towards a title shot and a final big payday!

Lets not forget the only guy hes lost to were

Lennox Lewis - Greatest heavyweight of his era. Undisputed Heavyweight WORLD Champion

Chris Byrd - Lost to a very slick, southpaw in Byrd who was at the top of his game. Byrd was also a multiple WORLD Champion lets not forget.

Ike Ibeabuchi - An absolute WAR of a fight many thaught Tua won it and many thaught it should have been a draw. Great fight, and win or loose both guys cred jumped after that fight.

I think he never reached his full potential but given the huge height disadvantage he has in almost every fight he did some good things.

Personally if he comes in shape i think he KO's shane

I would think he needs a warm up fight early 2009 before taking on Shane.

I would like to see him back in the ring...some of his KO's are the most brutal in history. :good

Tua really belonged in the 1980s with all the other talented Heavyweights that never fulfilled their potential.

I am sure it will be one of the best bouts of 2009, and I agree that David will KO Shane!

I also agree that Tua should have taken a "tune-up fight" before fighting Cameron, ...perhaps against someone like;
Roman Greenberg/ 6' 2+"( Israel/ 27-1 -18KO )!?

I think this is a hard fight for Cameron, no matter how shot people think Tua is he still has Power and Experience.

David Tua( 49-3-1-42KO )

vs

Shannon Briggs( USA/ 48-5-1-42KO )

...in 2009, maybe @ Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, after the fight with Cameron!? These guys have almost identical boxing records, and since neither Man has boxed publically for several months, this bout could be the "comeback" fight for 6' 4" Shannon "The Cannon" as well!?

I know I'm going to get SH!T for this one,
...but why not have a Boxing event in 2009 featuring some "old school" Heavies, that might actually bring in some $$$, and the title could be "42 KOs";

David "Tuaman" Tua( 49-3-1-42KO ) age: 36
vs
Shannon "The Cannon" Briggs( 48-5-1-42KO ) age: 37

Tommy "The Duke" Morrison( 48-3-1-42KO ) age: 39
vs
Riddick "Big Daddy" Bowe( 43-1 33KO ) age: ...almost 42

I wish Riddick would retire. He's going to badly hurt himself. He was already punchy...
