Seriously though, suggestions are welcome. I'm not sure if I can make the new folders (logs and weight related issues) myself, I'm looking into it tonight otherwise I'll ask admin. There will be more sticky threads in the future, El Puma is making one on strength conditioning as we speak.

nice. maybe you can make a single sticky thread that is divided up into different parts for training certain specific attributes of an athlete, since they are the most commonly asked questions on this forum. IE: increasing strength, increasing mass, decreasing mass, increasing endurance, increasing stamina, increasing power, increasing speed, increasing agility, increasing flexibility, etc. That way if someone feels they are lacking in a certain department; they can learn more about it and different ways to improve at it. Then instead of everyone replying fuck off to all the repeated questions like "how do i gain weight" and "my stamina sucks - what do i do"? . They could just link to your sticky. Some people will probably still do the first one, it just won't be as much :) .

That's close to what I had in mind. The plan at this moment is to make sticky threads for these subjects:

- Principles of training (specificity, overload, recovery, adaptation and reversibility, the different energy systems, etc)

- Nutrition
- Roadwork / combat running / fartlek / hill sprints / etc.
- Strength conditioning
- Boxing specific stuff, video's etc.

The principles of training (perhaps a more accessible name is more appropriate) should give people a basic idea on how to gain or lose fat or muscle, increase stamina, etc. A specific thread (roadwork, nutrition, strength conditioning, stretching guide, etc) would then go into detail, offering sample workouts and the likes.

If you are able to make subforums, then just as an idea maybe a nonboxing general workout/fitness would be good.

I know that you and some of the other amateur boxers get frustrated with this section being clogged up with nonboxers asking questions about weight lifting and what not. At the same time there are a few people who dont box but are interested in general fitness advice and tips, like myself, Jazzo, Rakim and others. I dont really go to any other forums besides ESB so I like to come to this area sometimes and see whats going on and chime in.

I think there has to be some way of striking a balace of allowing non boxing workout questions but also maintaining the focus on boxing training. Of course then with a seperate subforum, the new issue of what goes where would come up, so its just an idea.

That is the main problem, also with the weight related sub forum. I think I'll just allow general fitness stuff anyway, it hasn't been a real problem lately. To balance it out I will also allow comments like "fuck off" and "go to bodybuilding.com" :D

I'm still considering all options.

How about a recipie thread?

I saw it on another forum, it's a good idea, everyone write in their own recipies, nutritional values etc.

If you feel like kicking one of, please do. If it becomes popular I'll sticky it.

I won't be the one to start it. I'm not much of a cook my own meals are strictly functional. Example, I eat raw garlic by chewing on a clove and washing it down with water. Not exactly haute cuisine :D
