I often eat four slices of brown bread and milk just because I love it. I often get this craving late at night. Is this bad? Serious question.

depends how many calories you eat in the day, and what your goals are.

They say your metablosim is lowest at night before bed, but other than that I dont see anything wrong with it. Like someone else already said though depends on your goals. As long as you're active and are maintaining your weight, I think it would be fine.

Don't sumo wrestlers eat a lot of carbs before their mid day sleep?
Apparently this helps them to put on a lot of fat round their midsection,,,

It is recommended you eat some protein before bed, specifically slow digesting protein like casein or I guess soy and egg proteins would be decent as well.

It keeps you metabolism up while you are sleeping to have something digesting in there.

Simple carbs are a horrible idea, the brown bread is still likely considered a simple carb. Not too sure if complex whole grain carbs would be good before bed:huh but Ive never seen it recommended.

I think the focus on slow digesting proteins is for 1. to keep the metabolism up and 2. to provide your body/muscles with protein while you are recovering.

Basically they reckon you put more weight on if you eat carbs because carbs give you energy, therefore if you are not using energy carbs get stored as fat.

It depends though, it all depends on what you have eaten during the day, how many calories you use at night... like how late are you up, any exercise you have done in the past 2/3 hours, sex ;), what time you get up, how many hours you sleep, etc, etc.

Well sex aint happening at the moment but I can wank with the best of them.

I tend to get this craving if I haven't eaten much for my evening meal.
