I will list the best year they can have (within the bounds of reality) and you pick who you think will get closest to it.

1. Joe Calzaghe
Whips Chad Dawson and then defeats Froch to regain his belt of over 10 years in a british super fight, then retires to live happily ever after as a respected top 15 ATG

2. Ricky Hatton
Somehow Beats Oscar at Wembley, then KO's Paquio at MSG to become P4P number one

3. David Haye
Beats Vitali To become WBC Heavyweight Champion, Then Beats Valuev to add another title on his wy to unifying

4. Carl Froch
Beats Kessler To take his belt, then hands calzaghe his only loss in a super fight

5. Audley Harrison
Finally reaches his potential, knocking out Sam Peter to set up a showdown with Haye at Wembley for the title

6. Amir Khan
Schools Prescott and finishes the year on route to a lightweight title shot

this is fantasy stuff and the only one where the fights actually have a chance of taking place is Amir Khan - maybe Hattons' but it will be either ODLH or Pac and then someone else. but i went with Hatton, cant get betta than p4p no.1

Froch or Hatton. Froch probably because I think he has the beating of everyone in the division except Kessler.

I believe Calzaghe will retire.

The fact that the most likely outcome of those mentioned is number 6 should tell you something.

I think Calzaghe will fight either Dawson or Froch, depending on the latters showing on Saturday, before retiring. I'd like to see Hatton fight Pac but Oscar beating him would take a little of the shine off that fight. Haye is a HW KO waiting to happen IMHO.

Calzaghe retires and sits in an armchair while Dawson gets chinned by some random, Kessler crushes Taylor and, finally, nobody can come up with anybody who he should be fighting...

Sorry but you said at the top 'within the bounds of reality' and all 6 points to way way over the 'bounds of reality'.

Realistically this is what will happen.

1. Joe Calzaghe
Probably won't fight in 2009 if ever again. If he does it will be another meaningless money match vs RJJ or Bhop.

2. Ricky Hatton
Loses galantly to ODH, JMM or PAC and has a last losing hurrah (probably in 2010) to one of the other two.

3. David Haye
Wins his next fight vs Povetkin or another good ruski in dramatic fashion but then loses heavily and early to one of the Klit brothers.

4. Carl Froch
Wins his comeback after being schooled and eventually knocked out by Pascal but doesn't have the fire anymore and retires and nobody ever hears from him again.

5. No comment

6. Amir Khan
Will probably fight 3 times against 3 guys who can't punch their way out of a paper bag.

Calzaghe: Retire ( Will duck Dawson, cuz he will take Joe's 0 away)

Hatton: Fight ODH and win with a mad pay day, then retire

Haye : Love to see him beat the one of the Kilt brothers, will be hard but he can do it.

Khan: This will be young Khan's year (If he shows a big improvement 2morrow), after 3 more fights late in 2009, Khan will have a shot at a Lightweight world title.

Hatton, Haye, Khan, all will have a great year, And it will be a great year for british boxing.

1. Will definitely not fight Froch, possibly Dawson - but probably retirement.

2. Will fight either De La Hoya or Pacquiao at Wembley. I expect him to lose either way. Aside from that, he only wants to fight Mayweather Jr. again, and
I can't see that happening.

3. I think Haye/Vitali is probably a 60/40 fight in favour of Vitali. I'm still not convinced that Haye has a good chin, and the outcome depends greatly on where the fight is held IMO. Against Valuev he would probably do okay.

4. We'll see how he does against Pascal and how the ITV ratings are. I don't think fights against Kessler OR Taylor are going to turn him into the next Calzaghe/Hatton though.

5. lol, Urm, will probably take a few more 'tune-up' fights, and if he manages to stay upright, he MIGHT get a shot at one of the belts. (which he will promptly lose).

6. The WBU title beckons...

Yeah, I'm pretty negative about next year, sorry..

on paper i would say haye as things can only get better for him, whereas calzaghe has reached a level where its hard to surpass unless he fights dawson, hatton in a major fight will lose, khan will fight a few more bums, i cant see him fighting anyone in the top 10 in 2009, froch....no so has to be haye

Clicked Calzaghe because if he continues boxing i cant see him being beat by anyone out there.

I think Haye and Hatton will have good years if they get the right fights.
