Khan told BBC Sport: "I was giving Manny tough, tough sparring. He learnt a lot off me as well as me from him."

What the fuck can he teach Manny? he's not fit to tie Manny's laces the arrogant twat.

"The sparring over there was tougher than a fight and probably tougher than the fight I'm having on Saturday. I can't wait to get in there and show what I've learnt in the last six to eight weeks.

Talk about not showing respect to your opponent. Even if he thinks that's true it's a bit distasteful in saying things like this before the fight.

"I've trimmed down a lot of muscle, kept my speed, and I'm going to go back to my old self again - hit and move, hit and move, don't stand there, don't be flat-footed, stay on my toes.

When did he do that? Hit and move my arse

Nothing wrong with any of those statements, you're over-analysing.

Is that the opponent who smashed a decanter on the floor saying it was Khans chin?

Khan's jab, in fact, has been the talk of the gym since he arrived a month ago - and Roach is delighted to have Khan sparring with Pacquiao ahead of his monumental showdown with De La Hoya.
'It just happened by accident,' Roach says. 'I was working the mitts with him and I saw how fast he really was with that jab and I said, you know what, it will do a world of confidence for him, to get in with Pacquiao and hold his own - which I expected him to do, I wasn't sure - but he did better than hold his own. So I was very happy.
'Manny appreciates the quality of the sparring, and there's a little bit of an ego thing, always in boxing. Amir usually gets the best of Manny at the beginning, and Manny usually gets the best at the end, because he wears him down a little bit. But Manny's learning how to deal with the speed of the jab - and this is the important part for Manny - and Amir is holding his own with the world champion and doing well with him.'
Pacquiao agrees. 'Too fast!' he says of Khan's left lead. 'He is going to be a great fighter, believe me.'

Come on ishy...give it a rest. The boy's 21. He's no PhD either.

Khan's got a good, fast jab. He was asked to keep firing that in Pacman's face and he did. Pacman practiced how to avoid it and deal with it. Sparring is just that - it's not a fight. Pacman didn't practice his offence against Khan in sparring. He practiced his defence - everyone knows Khan's got an effective offence; I'm sure it was decent sparring for Pacman; he let him come in with impunity and tried to work on his defence - so, of course Khan felt as if he was doing well.:good

Distasteful? A sparring session with Pacquiao is tougher than fighting Fagan in anyone's book. I don't know why everyone seems to think he's a huge prospect here on the British forum. Most of Khan's previous opponents had much better records (St.Clair, Gomez and Kristjansen, at the very least).

it aint even that suprising khan gets the better of pac in sparring!! i think pac would learn of khan, khans offence is world class, if he had an iron chin he'd probably be in the top 20 p4p by now, and cleaned up the LW division

Everytime he opens his mouth he shows that he has in fact learned nothing.
He practically dismissed the loss to Prescott calling it a stupid mistake, he is now dismissing Fagan as a credible opponent.Khan's arrogance will be his undoing.

I remember Roach saying they were using khan to spar because they wanted a tall guy with a jab (like Oscar).

The guy is saying if he had an iron chin...

The top 10 may well beat him but anyone with an Iron chin and a decent punch and fast hands is going to cause problems...

The trouble is he doesn't have an Iron Chin lol...

no 1 really knows how technical khan is, his chin has been so bad that some of his fights have just been shoot outs, b4 being kd by limmond khan ran out of ideas if he couldnt figure out some 1 as simple as limmond then the chances are he'd get his head boxed off by any 1 with sub-level boxing skills, when he fought that dane he kept on doing the same bullshit round after round

Okay, so everyone get your money on a 1st round KO for Khan.

Manny would KO Fagan quicksmart.

And Khan being able to compete well with Manny (especially at the beginning of the sparring according to Roach) and being superb going forward etc according to everyone on here, well tat adds up to a 1st round KO.

Too much to quote and differ with on this thread, my only hope is........he dosent get burnt out with the bright lights ( i dontmean looking at them starched ) Too much too soon is what i mean. Yes Tyson won at 20 etc NOT in this day and age and enviroment ( even internet posting ) Theres a lot to hold on to or lose. If he does it will be typical british failure, if he does more so, it will be all ******'s fault.

Probably why i dont post much here. U could never win lol

Apart from Jeff , i dont see many of the pro's or ex pro's posting.

Why is this ? Its out of respect for fellow fighters ? Maybe as they are busy ?

Cheers
