Who should Kessler fight after Calzaghe, if he wins or loose?
After he wins he should go after Dawson

Should take a solid rebouned opponent, then go after another belt. It's going to be a brutal thrashing loss, so he'll need a rebound opponent, a guy like Froch who has little chance at all for victory, but is a name.

Personally I think Kessler - Froche would be a decent fight.

All depends on how bad the beating is from Calzaghe. I think Kessler should have a solid rebound fight against one of the top20 fighters before fighting Berrio for the title or fight the winner of Green/Manfredo/Lacy triangle.

After he beats Calcracky, he should prolly give em a rematch... Hes young and has time on his side unlike Calcracky, then when he beats his ass worse prolly unify again or move up.

Assuming that Calzaghe wins, JC should go for whoever is the best/ more dangerous for him, irrespective of how big the name. My shortlist includes, in no particular order: Dawson, Bute, Bhop. Kessler should go for one of these opponents too, if he is fully recovered in time.
Assuming Kessler wins, Kessler should go for Bute, AND THEN, if he wins - Dawson. JC should go for Bhop and if he wins - Bute.

Chances are that a certain Lucian Bute will have taken his [Berrio] belt away by the time JC meets Kessler...Berrio lives on borrowed time, and he does it as if there were no tomorrow! ;)
Imo Kessler should move to light heavyweight, after beating Calzaghe, and try to clean that division to. There will be no point in staying in smw, unless he wants to do an Ottke/Calzaghe thing, make money at low risk.

I agree with you that if Kessler blasts Calzaghe to Kingdom Come, Bute doesn't appear to have much of a chance...but as things stand now...low risk?:-(

Good point. If Kessler wins, there would be no reason for Kessler to stay at SMW and defend his title against off brand fighters from the contender like other title holders do.

Damn you yanks still can't stand the fact that a valley boy has destroyed your best fighters. You're now hoping that a half english guy will beat an ageing Calzaghe and then step up in weight and lose to one of your own. Seriously get over it.

My pick is Froch too, for the same reason, get his confidence back up.

Would just like to say that in no way was it a rant on you personally, just general annoyance at ignorant Kessler fans (satirycon/the-best etc...)

And if Kessler loses? Would a rematch still be fun?:thinkThat is dependant on whether there is any controversy, excitment value of the fight and competetiveness.

Now you're making assumptions. You're doing a good job of displaying your paranoia when it comes to Calzaghe. My desire for Kessler to win has nothing to do with Calzaghe beating Lacy(by the way, Lacy was never one of our best fighters, just goes to show your ignorance of US boxing). I like Kessler as a fighter and want to see him do well.

Lacy was never one of our best fighters, just goes to show your ignorance of US boxing).
Marvin Hagler , Sugar Ray Leonard AND James Toney all said that Jeff Lacy deserved to be top5 PvP in the world in the months leading up to the Calzaghe fight. All the bookies had him there. Hell, 80% of the people on this forum thought he was....then he got owned.
Now suddenly its like - "YEAH I KNEW CALZAGHE WAS GONNA BEAT HIM BLOODY HYPE JOB LACY"
Get real, fact that he got outclassed by the best super-middle ever dont mean Lacy aint one of your best fighters.

Ha, despite what Marvin Hagler, James Toney, and Sugar Ray Leonard said(SRL also said Manfredo could beat Calzaghe), Lacy was never even in the top ten p4p , and he was never one of our best fighters. Also, I never said he was a hype job(you guys need to stop putting words in my mouth). It was a good win for Calzaghe. I only said Lacy wasn't one of our best fighters. The US is full of very talented fighters. Even though Lacy is a good fighter, he was never good enough to be one of our top fighters.

I think Kessler should take an easy fight after JC so that he can regain his confidence after the first loss and pasting of his career. You have to think that he'll be a little shell-shocked when that happens. I don't know...maybe he should fight someone easy, like, say...Jeff Lacy.
LOL!!!!

I like Kessler a lot, but I don't think his fans (and the JC haters) are ready for the speed they're going to see. Can't wait for the fight!
How come you cant support kessler, without beeing accused to be a Calzaghe
hater?. I like both, but Kessler is my favorit....

Jeff Lacy still made Joe work for it though, landed some bombs here and there as well. The fight was a brutal one sided beating, but it was entertaining because Lacy kept making Joe work for it at his best effort. In that regard it's different than Mayweather/Gatti, because Gatti couldn't do anything and Floyd effortlessly blasted him... Joe had to stay on his feet and utilise his best tactics to keep that type of shutout going. I still believe Lacy was a class opponent.
Kessler/Calzaghe is just going to be a brutal, one sided beatdown that'll get stopped before 10, give it a few rounds and Kessler will be so tentative and absolutley freeze at the assault, further opening himself up to be blasted on the inside.
I also believe Joe can stun Kessler all around the ring, he did so to Lacy and there is no way Kessler has better punch resistance.

when kessler have won J.c WBO title,i would like him to fight Pavlik.
IF he lose to j.c,and it´s a close decision,a rematch would be fine too...
but anyway, kessler is young and i think he´s got a long career in front off him.Bute should maybe altso have a shot at a title fight.

Who should Kessler fight after Calzaghe, if he wins or loose?
If he wins:
Hopkins or Taylor.
I don't want to see him against Dawson.
