View Full Version : Pacman I love you!!!
Pacman beat the living shit out of Oscar.

He destroyed him and put on an awesome display.
This fight confirms 2 things for me.
1 is that Pacquio is clearly the #1 p4p fighter in the world atm. Joe is distant 2nd.
the 2nd is that Oscar should retire.
As for Pac beating Fenech...I'd agree. Fenech looked shit in his third fight with Nelson, and Pac qould destroy him.

I think someone needs to go dig out some of Jeff's fights. At Featherweight he was a beast.
I was impressed with Manny's performance tonight, but that's not the usual De la Hoya. He looked flat and listless, obviously he didn't make weight very well, which isn't surprising.

I actually thought Manny would win in comfortable manner. But I thought it'd go the distance and there'd be a hickup or two along the way, but as it turned out...Oscar got Lacy'd.

Awesome performance from Manny. Maybe De La Hoya thought it was in the bag from the outset of the fight being called. He was always going to struggle making he weight and even at the weigh in, he didn't look sharp or relaxed.

I will dig out my Fenech fights which is no more than 2 arm lengths from where im sitting but it wouldnt do me any good. Pac as i have always suspected beats Fenech comfortably.
Pac is now in a position to further cement his legacy as an ATG.

Great effort from pacman, I didn't think he could win let alone dominate like he did. Speed & angles had oscar fucked all night. Its time to hang them up for the golden boy, he looked very poor, did fuck all offensively all fight. Probably the worst I think I've seen him in.
Its no secret pacman's not hard to tag but did oscar try at all. Don't wan't to spoil pacs limelight, his performance was second to none but with the bullshit that surrounds championship boxing I can't help but think this was the result the bigmen wanted. I can see Pacquio v Hatton promoted by Golden boy productions. All $$$$ big business.

Pac is p4p #1. But, beating a way past it de la Hoya is nothing impressive. I knew he would beat him soundly. Hopefully, pacman lands a fight with hatton or floyd. That is more appealing to this die-hard boxing fan.

Pac has some massive fights ahead of him.
Hatton v Pac is now the dream matchup. Hatton is way more lively and can pull the trigger unlike Oscar but you know what...i would pick Pac to out manouvre him to a pts win

It's certainly a fight I want to see. De la Hoya looked dead in there. The weight obviously killed him. But what did he expect? He hadn't fought there since 2001.

Firstly i dont really muck around with boxing lists in my spare time so i have no idea but he'd have to be ranked fairly highish, what you reckon?
I can see him beating Hatton but not PBF.

Pretty Boy Floyd...not thats another story.Hatton looked pretty sharp a few weeks ago but he still got tagged rather easily at times. Out of the 2 Hatton is definitely the one Pac should target.

If he beats both of them, he's certainly right up there. Him and Hatton will be entertaining, he'd probably be slight favourite. I honestly think Mayweather and his accurate right hand would box Manny's ears off. Purely my opinion.

That's true but I don't think anyone expected to see that version of De La Hoya. His offensive output was non-existent.

Well your original point was that Manny's win against De la Hoya at Welterweight is somehow relevant to a fight against Fenech that was presumably take place between Bantam, Feather or Jnr Lightweight.

I think Floyd would've watched today's fight and the $$$ would've been clicking over in his head.
Yeah, he was a corpse in there today. He was there to be taken by a few other guys as well.Lets not take anything away from Pac, he had magnificent head movement and was lightning quick on his feet and didnt allow Oscar to get his jab going, he moved off inclose to the right after shooting the straight left. Oscar was bewildered and couldnt do anything. Pac made him look bad.
A few guys could have taken him but i couldnt name one that would have looked better doing it.

I don't think people are. He executed his game plan to perfection. However, Oscar certainly had the look of a fighter that lost on the scales. Heavy legs and the worst punch stats since John Ruiz last fought.

Good win but lets not get 2 carried away..
Oscar De La Hoya aint the golden boy anymore..
How come no1 is mentioning that as soon as Oscar gave up in his corner he quickly got up and steamed towards pacman to give him a pat on the back...
Not exactly Joe frazier like or Tszyu like was it...

For me when Victor Ortiz gave his post fight inerview and was asked by Larry Merchant how he did when sparring ODH and was obviously being polite but at the same time one got the impression he raped ODH in sparring.
Yeah I thought the same thing, he did show his class by not openly saying how well he done though.

I won and lost a bit of cash on the fight.
well done to pacman, i think he beats Hatton but its a fight id love to see. sadly PBF might jump in front of Hatton and steal the fight from him.
pacman vs PBF would be cool, id like to see how floyd would deal with the speed of pac.

This is a good point - it's almost like DLH is willing to go into the ring and lose to the big names in an effort to get them on his payroll in some form or another.
I wondered the exact same thing when Hopkins became GBP East Coast 'talent manager' a week or so after their fight.
Then there's Mosley, GBP's West Coast 'talent manager' - another fella DLH has lost to.
Not saying he's going in there and taking dives, but the way he stayed down vs Hopkins and then looked like shit yesterday just makes me think that if he can't get their signature, he'll entice them with a big money fight and get them in that way.

Quick question but can anyone shed a bit of light on as to why both Hatton & JJM were standing as part of the Golden Boy Clan ie Hopkins, Mosley at the weigh in. Sure Hatton has been hooted as fighting the winner but whats with JJM. I'll tell you my thoughts.
That fight yesterday was more to do with future business for oscar than trying to beat the pacman. Not taking away from pacs outstanding performance but what about oscars lack of effort in offense in any round. I'll say this now this was the result Golden Boy Productions wanted. Within the next 10 yrs Golden Boy Productions will manage most of the elite fighters of the world & control most of the big fights. Its all $$$$ these days.
