is it a dumb question to say is this a welter or middle ray robinson?
i have only seen ray against fusilli which is supposivly his last fight at 147.

i know there isnt alot of 147 footage of him but still....there must be more than only 10 rounds of him

Nice video. Thanks for posting, been awhile since I've seen it.
Robinson's reactions look razor sharp...he is catching Barnes' jab and almost simultaneously firing back his own jab...the ability to fire hard hooks off the jab to the body and head, while moving, and not having to fully set...Amazing fluidity and reflexes.

Barnes weighed 160; Robinson 156.

Does anyone still have this fight? its from 1950 so its close to his best, never seen this SRR fight, so many uncovered fights of him, never even knew this one existed on film. Could someone upload it again, really want to see it.

this would also be the earliest professionaly filmed fight of his, it happened before both the dykes and Fusari fights.

Take a look and tell me if there's a snowball's chance in hell that Angott could have ever had a chance of defending his title against Ray. This is Robinson-Angott III on March 4, 1946:

Yes this fight are brillaint to watch, Robinson looks like a killer in the ringside recorded fights of Riccio, Flores, Angott and others, but this Barnes film looks to be as though it was on TV, with motion picture cameras making it the first professionaly filmed bout of Robinson we have, Ray fought Barnes on April 28th, His fight with FUsari was on Aug 9th and the Dykes fight was November 8th, but yeah this film was 1950 so it cant be more impressive than the WW Robinson of 1946, still want to see it though.:D

Technically SRR should have won the LW title, theres no way Angott could beat Sugar. As Ray said "the only reason Angott woke up was because his head was near the time-keeper’s hammer as it pounded on the ring apron." (From Stonehands).
