I am reading at this (2) other sites that the fight is rumored, so yes not quite official yet. That it will take place at the Garden on Nov 10. If this fight takes place at the Garden then I will definetly be in attendance. Just hope the tickets are not outrageously priced.
I think this fight goes the distance. If Cotto can cope with Mosley's speed than it will be a long night for Mosley. I know many question Cotto's chin but at 147 I think he recovers faster and has pretty good coping skills and is a greatly composed fighter.
There is a possibility of Cotto getting stunned but with the exception of Vargas, whom we all know has had better days, and is probably fighting his retirement fight Mosley hasn't KO'ed anyone since 2001.
So its experience and speed versus relentless pressure and youth.
I pick Cotto by 12rd SD. I think his effective pressure and activity will overcome Mosley's speed and experience.

I think it is offical now.
Its a 50-50 fight. Boxer or brawler, who wins. Both are versatile fighters though, Cotto can box and Mosley can brawl. Foot speed v strength, hand speed v power, tall guy or stocky guy.
Its a legendary fight.

I'm up in Toronto, but I'll make an effort to get down to NYC for the fight ... I'm expecting that crowd to be hot for the fight ... I've yet to see a basketball game or boxing match at The Garden.

Word out of Puerto Rico is that the fight between WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto and WBC interim titleholder Shane Mosley is a done deal. The bout will take place November 10th in New York's Madison Square Garden and both titles will be on the line. Cotto and Mosley will soon be hitting the road for a multi-city promotional tour. Stay tuned for details.

Yeah I was at Cotto-Quintana..My first live fight. It was electric. My damn camera ran out of memory when Cotto finished Quintana off. But overall it was a great experience.

I'm taking Mosley. Would not be surprised if he stops Cotto. In fact, I'm leaning towards that happening in the later rounds.

Shit like this is why Mosley is my favorite fighter of this era. He has stacked the cards against himself by fighting Cotto at MSG. His crowd, his judges, probably his ref (Mr. Low Blow will attempt his shenanigans against Shane).
Despite all of that, I'm still picking SSM!!!

I remember my girl going nutz because Zab head butt Cotto and split his brow and then hit Cotto with a low blow too and Cotto just kept on steam rollin. I told her that's the difference between Zab and Cotto and watch people bitch about the low blows.....sure enough the bitches came out to play.
Are you not Mexican :huh .....I'm not used to hearing a Mexican sounding like a bitch...(Maybe DLH) but other than him the Mexicans I know dont bitch and moan much.:smoke

yea I saw this on the ESPN bottom line. Its a close fight on paper, contrasting styles could be a really give and take type of fight. I'll take Mosley though, but never count Miguel out, he is a beast.

I honestly believe that Cotto will win no worse than 8 rounds to 4. People are going to be surprised at what Cotto is going to do to Shane. Shane is a great fighter but his best days are way behind him. Unfortunately for him, the only way a fighter will be able to defeat Cotto is if they are at the top of the game, not on the way out of boxing. Cotto by easy UD or late stoppage. Believe me when I say it. Too many people said Zab was going to stop him and now the same people are saying Mosley will finish the job Zab started. Well haters, it's not going to happen. Prepare yourself for Cotto vs Floyd in 2008--that is if Floyd isnt afraid to lose his 0.

People say the dumbest things about those accidental low blows. I hate it when they say Cotto got that from Tito's handbook.

I'm with u on that, I wouldn't be surprised if Mosley stops him. It's very possible. I really think Mosley will win a UD :yep

Accidental or not those were some hardcore lowblows, especially the second one.
I don't want to see SSM lose to Cotto, so I'll be rooting for him. Haven't picked a winner but I no longer underestimate the force that Cotto can be. I honestly fear for Shane's safety because this is a whole other fight that he hasn't been in in years.
Let me just say that he has seen Cotto rocked and hurt in most of his recent fights; SSM is the type of guy to finish off a wounded Cotto. Bet on it.

BobDig, i'm glad youre not underestimating Cotto. Although I feel strongly that Cotto will easily win, I do not underestimate Mosley b/c he is still good. I just dont think he will be able to handle Cotto's pressure for a full fight. Unless he takes Cotto out early, I dont see him winning b/c it seems Cotto gets stronger as the fight goes on.

Mosley wins and rather easily im not seeing anyway he doesnt. Mosleys still a explosive offensive fighter and we all know Miguel Cotto has trouble with speed, his own defense, and his chin. This isnt Zab Judah who always fades late Shane Mosley does his best work later in fights possibly due to training in Big Bear. All he needs to do is use his head and footmovement like he has his last 2 fights and hes going to give Cotto a boxing lesson and knock him out with a right uppercut and a lefthook in 8 rounds.

lol..this cracked me up. That's true though what you said about Judah's head butt - Cotto sucked it up and kept moving.
Mosley is cut from a different cloth though. He won't "bitch" like judah did.
This could be the next Chavez-Taylor :deal
