The highly anticipated Welterweight match up between Sugar Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) set to take place at Madison Square Garden ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) in New York on November 10.
According to the Los Angeles Times newspaper, the fight has been confirmed by both boxers camps and the venue and date decided
Mosley has said on numerous occasions that his next fight may very well be his last, and it looks as though he’s set to go out on a high as he faces the undefeated Cotto.
Mosley, 44-4 (37), has looked like his old self recently easily outpointing Luis Collazo ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) last time out in February.
Cotto, 30-0 (25), moved up to 147lb last December claiming the WBA crown by stopping Carlos Quintana inside five rounds. Since then he has made two defences… a laboured 11th round stoppage against the durable Otkay Urkal and an explosive 11 round war with Zab Judah in June.
It is thought the bout would be for Cotto’s WBA title, although that has yet to be confirmed.
The bout is just one of several mouth watering match ups towards the end of 2007 including Barerra – Pacquiao, Taylor – Pavlik, Calzaghe – Kessler and Hatton – Mayweather. Fight fans are in for a real treat in the coming few months.
