A better question would be

What if every decision in heavyweight history had been fair and just?

Many of the the alterations listed would have been killer, and however i agree with Lennox Lewis beaeting Riddick Bowe, i don't agree with Holyfield beating Lennox Lewis in almost any scenario. maybe in 1993 but 1996? Good post though...

Entertaining read, this is how I would change it.

November 1996: *Evander Holyfield TKO 11 Mike Tyson

* denotes steroid-aided

Actually my biased history would just have Tyson beat everyone and retire as undisputed champ with a 65-0 record with 61 KOs.

I still think the Rock beats Charles in 51. And why would he get the title shot in 51, when it was Walcott that was the number 1 contender?? Mostly when he flatten Charles in round 7?

April 2005: Wlad Klitschko TKO10 Lennox Lewis Hmm... This is an interesting and well-thought-through post. Here are the points on which I disagree:
I tend to think Johnson would've beaten Jeffries in 1903. I highly doubt Wills would've drawn/won against a 1919-1921 Dempsey.
Why would you want Marciano to have challenged Charles in July of '51? He hadn't even had his first real big win yet at that point and probably wouldn't have been ready for a title fight with Charles. It was better that he fought for the title when he did. I also doubt Patterson would've beaten Marciano in '56.
Liston hadn't really earned a title shot yet as of April '59. Maybe at the end of the year or in 1960 would have been appropriate. I don't really think Frazier was ready for a fight with Ali in March of '68. Maybe a year later.
And your '90s timeline, while interesting, is very improbable- two heavyweight champions fighting each other four times, like you have Holyfield and Lewis doing, is unheard of these days, and once one has beaten another twice, they don't have a third fight. I'm also doubtful that Tyson would've beaten Rahman in 2001, especially in the 10th round, having such horrible stamina at that stage in his career.

Wills/Dempsey 1919/22 is pick-em IMO.

Yeah the way it works Marciano was not quite ready for Charles in July 51, thus the draw, but he was a top 10 contender at the time, and as Charles was 2 and 0 against Walcott, why the need for the third fight? (I know;))

Liston is a little unknown in April 59 (I took the date he made his reputation by beating Williams, but he had beaten DeJohn...

If Ali had continued, Frazier ready or not would of been #1 contender for Ali in April 1968 (Frazier does kind of get screwed in this scenario, sadly, no offence was intended).

As for the 90s I see your point, but Holyfield/Bowe fought three times, so four although pushing it, is possible...

Tyson was a bit of poetic licence. I have little time for him, but the scenario I used made Lewis/Tyson even bigger. Although unlikely I suspect the book would of been close if Rahman had choosen a Tyson match rather than a Lewis rematch, and Hasim's chin could let him down.

I liked this thread when I first read it and I still like it now.

Would be good to see you do a version for lhw :good

Taking from ThinBlack's gimmick...

Wlad over Lewis? Even I am getting angry about that!

Five years on or what, what was I thinking?:huh

:good.Great List, but someone would've gotten to Holmes before Spinks did.

Holyfield/Tyson was signed for June 1990. Douglas takes over Tyson's obligations...

It was a BLATANT DUCK, becuase Bummy Douglas imagined Holyfield was easy-pickings.

Waldo was stopped by Sanders in 2003, And Brewster in 2004, why does he deserve a Lewis fight in 2005??:huh

Anyway, if Old Lenny trains decently, he brutally KO's Wladdy with holding/hitting in teh clinches in the mid-rounds, after a slow-start.:!:

I have no idea what this is about. This is not how "it should have been." This thread is how you would have liked it. Pointless really but it's nice to dream I guess.

It's actually a very interesting personalised viewpoint on how the hw championship would have flowed had the big fights come off.

Why you'd be negative about this thread is beyond me.
