Huh?

What happened? I can't see any big fights until Vargas-Mayorga on 8th September unless I'm missing something? :huh

There are some decent matchups in August, but you're right, no really BIG fights as most use the term.

I looked at the schedule and noticed there are a lot of "past their prime" name fighters in action in August. Not only a bunch of old heavies, but guys like Bronco Mckart, Robert Allen, Yory Boy Campas, Ben Tackie, and Push Up Frazier are in action this month. It would have been a heck of a month ten years ago. :bbb

Well, this might not necessarily be "big," but you will get to see Litzau's next fight and everyone here on ESB (myself included) watch him intently, hoping that he loses so we can rejoice in his misfortune. Join the bandwagon. It's fun, I guarantee you'll enjoy it. He's dedicating this bout to those affected by the collapse of that bridge in Minneapolis, his hometown. :good

If you care about Arthur Abraham, he's fighting.

Can you believe this, they're trying to push a David Tua/Joe Mesi card on PPV. Fudgin' hilarious. Don't worry, they're not fighting each other.

Ivan Calderon and Chris John should be fighting in August as well.

That's what I mean. It has been a good year and will end up being a HUGE year for boxing fans. I don't know what else can anyone ask for.

My fault. I was looking ahead at the schedule and didn't really think about last Saturday's fight. Obviously that made August a standout month.

Its been a storm none stop.

Haye-Mormeck in September.
Calzaghe-Kessler in November.
Hatton-Floyd in December.

The Brits just need something in October and we are finishing the year with the best fights we can make.

There's Ponce v Bautista-WBO Super Bantam
Gonzalez v Penalosa-WBO Bantam
Z Gorres v Ortiz
Miguel Roman v Michael Domingo
Diosdado Gabi v Juan Angel Beranza
AJ Banal v Jorge Cardenas

All part of the World Cup card tonight .

Next Saturday there is Arthur Abraham v Khoren Gevor-IBF Middle
Trabant v Grassellini
Cruiser prospect Yoan Pablo Hernandez and the continuing comeback of Mads Larsen .

Other than that you have the usual stuff that they shown on Telefutura , Telemundo , ESPN etc .

It is a bit of a calm but September really is a storm .

Return of Judah , Valuev v Bergeron , Taylor v Pavlik card , Marquez v Juarez card , Witter v Harris , Oganov v Zuniga(should be a war) , Vargas v Mayorga card , return of Vitali v McCline , Dawson v Diaconu , Braehmer v Veit , + the usual stuff .

August is the hottest month of the year, most things just grind to a halt where I live. Try training for anything more than 10 minutes in 100+degrees.
Isn't Holy-Sultan in October?
