The fight between Jess Willard and Luther McCarty, it's listed on boxrec as a no decision. What was the consensus at the time as to the winner? Anybody have any fight reports on it?

BIG DEE HERE= Willard got the edge by the New York Times newspaper. McCarty just didn`t know how to handle Willards size and power at the time. After the fight McCarty said he wanted to fight Willard again as he now knew how to beat him because he knew what he did wrong the first time. Of course they never did fight as McCarty died in Calgery,Canada which is to damn bad as a second fight would have been a helluva fight
as what happened in the Kaufman and Palzer fights.

Cemetery in Piqua, Ohio. It`s right by the river in the middle of town I stop when I`m over that way.

BIG DEE HERE= Joe Jeanette thought so and said it in the 1930s when he was helping
to train Jimmy Braddock. He was also bitter about Jack Johnson saying the asshole drew
the color line against his own people and he would never forgive him for that. Jeanette
said had McCarty not died he would have whipped Johnson because he had it all size,
speed, hitting power, and could take a punch. Jeanette said he learned quick too.

An interesting perspective for sure.
