I'll get back to you on a release date. I emailed Brian asking him for the date. His book on Pep many years ago was well acclaimed and his one on Robinson is relatively new.

Doesn't look like it, even though it days late 2008 on his site. I can't wait for it.
All we need now is a Hagler biography.

Brian Hughes..... "Peerless" is due to release one on Thomas Hearns.
This should be a great read.
There's a brilliant book called FOUR KINGS on the Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran era. It concentrates on them pretty much in that order, so there's more emphasis on say SRL than Tommy, but it's a great read nonetheless.

Sugar Ray Leonard - James Haskins.
Roberto Duran "Hands of Stone" - Christian Giudice.
Thomas Hearns (title tba) - Brian Hughes.
Steve Marantz, where are you? You need to do one on Hagler, thus completing the quadruple.

The FOUR KINGS book by George Kimball fills the void until someone gets around to doing the Hagler book.
The Marvellous one has been living in Itali for years now and may be hard to get quotes from these days.

Thanks for the info! I will get my hands on this soon for sure. Did anyone read "Fight or Die" the Vinny Paz story. I read the whole thing over a two day period in Barnes and Nobles in Staten Island, NY. Written by a childhood friend of the Pazman. Good read. Anyway, I have the Frazier, Shavers, Norton bios in my collection and will be adding this Hearns book too. I'm gonna go on amazon.com now and see if I can order it as the previous poster said it is out now. Thanks again.

I find boxing books on fighters who had little to say or had little influence on his times to be flat and boring ... Hearns was a warrior but I see little new ground in a book .. what are we going to learn ? Sit up totals pre-Leonard one or how many women he screwed in his youth ?

I think Hearns may have had a little influence on his time mate? Multiple titles and fights vs Leonard, Benitez, Hagler, Cuevas, Hill, Duran..................
I'll wait until i read it before judging personally. Admittedly it won't take much to impress as i am an avid Hearns fan.

Great news. We need more biographies on recent fighters and the stories behind the scenes in the dressing room. That is always interesting leading up to fights.

I was refering to a Sullivan, a Johnson someone that had mass effect ... maybe Hearns will have some revelations to make ... if it is a straight bio, zzzzzzz ..

I actually agree with parts of this. Not sure why a Hearns Bio will be that interesting...apparently there's a new Kirkland Laing out, that's more my speed, might be mad.
