Cheers!

A giant vs a roid freak makes for an awful fight. Hopefully Valuev KO's him and puts the career to an end.

It's a disgrace, Audley has to continue "proving" himself yet some past it old timer gets a shot coz of his name. Audley's wasted countless chances to brake into the big tmie, but no one try to tell me that Valuev is better than him
Valuev is better than him :good

Valuev is seriously under-rated. He'd be no worse then 40-60 versus Vlad.

Valuev has been refining his boxing skills, and there not bad actually - but cricky he is pretty boring to watch. He gives Wlad a run for his money in those stakes.
Huh?
Valuev is not very good. Valuev was comprehensively outboxed and lost at least 8 rounds to Ruslan Chagaev. His last fight against John Ruiz was very close. The same John Ruiz that was clowned by Jones, knocked out cold by Tua, and has only ever been competetive at the top level through questionable tactics.
He has a good jab, thats it. Very very slow, easily hit, not well rounded, little power. He's 10/90 against Wladimir at very best.

Valuevs lack of power, and ferocity, is disappointing. Especially after seeing the man mountain that he is enter the ring.
It kinda of makes sense he can't punch like Mike Tyson could. There is no speed through the punch. Mass is one part of the equation, but its equilised by the fact its very slow. Also anybody can see that coming and there is no surprise to it. Plus the fact he is always punching down.
Matt Skelton gave Chagaev more problems than Valuev. Tells you all you need to know, really.

I think Valuev has reasonable skills, no better or worse - he is probably over-estimated in this department because nobody would expect a 7ft 23st beast to be able to do anything other than bang.
Whilst on the flipside, his power is probably underrated. His last two big fights have been against Ruiz - who has an excellent beard, and Chagaev, who could be hit with a mack truck and be able to carry on fighting.

Valuev's a slow, arm puncher. And he has zero finishing ability, because he's so slow.

I think this fights a poor advert for boxing to people on the outside, dont get me wrong I think Valuev is a lot of a better fighter than he gets credit for, I think he is pretty slow though, but he does look like a freak, against a total washed up has been who needs the money for a world title, plus the fight will almost surely be shit.

Nah, I don't thinks thats right. Wladimir has never been sparked out so horrifically. Actually, his for the most part have been partly fatigue induced, before he learnt how to pace himself. He always gets up and fights on for as long as he can, Khan should have been stopped straight away he was so wobbly.
Plus he's never been hurt by light hitters like Limond.

Sort of "good hands ("feet") for a big man"... :D

It would be interesting to see how Wlad went against a guy with not only a longer reach, but a fair bit taller.
I personally think Valuev's size makes it even easier for Wlad. He's not punching down for once. His jab is more correct, much faster and much harder. Plus his footwork and speed is such that he is always going to be in a position to outjab the big man. And when he lets his power shots go he has a good chance to land them from a hurtful angle that Valuev has never experienced against midgets like Chagaev and Ruiz.
It would be interesting for sure with the two giants. But really...the only question is whether Wlad can fell him for me.
Wlad has to get through Povetkin first, and he's no joke.

Wlad does do a lot of draping his whole weight (bearing down), over smaller opponents though, wearing them down. I'm not sure if that would be so effective against someone as big. Still I'd fancy Wlad clearly, and I can see his punches crunching home on Valuev... ouch... that's if he hopefully decides not to hide behind his jab...
But if you think about the times when he's holding, its a defence mechanism when smaller guys have breached his jab and he wants to prevent them doing any inside work. It's very effective but ugly.
That's not really Valuev's game, he likes it on the outside too. So hopefully this would be clinch free.

Like Wlad, bearing down, holding, leaning on opponents, using his size advantage, is possibly a tactic Valuev should employ, but I wouldn't want to watch it.

Y'know, sometimes you forget just how big Valuev is...
If he was as much of a destroyer as he looked, no-one could live with him.

just gives a bio of holyfield , how he has 151 children to feed, that he has wasted 200 million dollars .
germans were not really happy about it because holyfield can no longer fight in america because he cannot get a liscesce , and talks about his heart defect, but the german medical staff say he passed his medical.
the fight is live on german tv for free.
i agree with jeff thomas, valuev does get underated.
he uses his best assets.
he is fucking huge/he has a good solid jab, which he throws all the time/he has great stamina and a solid chin with good workrate.
he does not do some other aspects of the game well, but he sticks to basics and he gets the wins v decent opposition.
he will keep evander on the end of a jab all night IMO and win wide on points.

i'm kinda surprised this isnt getting hyped more over here...i would have thought it would have been an easy fight for any tv compnay to hype up...
a giant champion against a former great, one of the last batch of great heavyweights...
i dont think fight should be happening at all...but aside from that...i thought the average sports viewer would be interested in the scenario it presents.
and...says so much about heavyweights and the way the division is, that a world title fight isnt even shown on british tv....mind you it also shows the bad side of this 'sport' that the fight is happening at all.
it's not that i have a problem with evanders age..its the fact that he got ranked so this fight could be made...he did nothing to deserve that ranking or this shot at the title..i hate to see that happening.

Sad to see Evander still fighting. I was a big fan of his when he was the best heavyweight on the planet.
