Would have to be the most promising partnership in australia at momment
still new to game lepai is making a huge name for himself
And what better hands could he be in then team thornberry .

personally after watching alexs last fight he will become what australia has always wanted
a serious heavy weight contender internationally

Alex Leapai is a very good local heavyweight & im a huge fan of his.

But i wouldnt call him a serious heavyweight contender internationally.
He has a hell of a long way to go to even be considered that.
He definitely needs better conditioning for a start.

You know the odd good heavy eh Kagsy?

cabana has a point though - Leapai is a much better fighter under Noel - and even better when he facking listens!

what im saying is potentially and without a question leapy has the tools and thornberry the knowledge to take him as far as he wants to go.
If there were any young up and comer thats THATS GOING TO MAKE IT team thornberry are the people you want to look after you .

they look like they bring there fighters along nicely they dont rush them they feed them just enough
to the next pay day
and i think alexs is going to be a big house hold name

Alex needs to work more on his conditioning and if he did this in the right way he would become more explosive, which would benefit his style.
It takes more than a good fighter and a good trainer do make any noise on the world scene, unless he has a lot of money behind him to bring in opponents he will find it is a hard slog trying to do it without relocating to were it all happens.

what shit are you on ?
it takes more then a good fighter?
and a good trainer?:patsch
Sorry to burst your bubble but without that you dont have a chance who cares the amount of money..........ohhh you must be talking about mundine or dibb to much money.
so were forced to watch them win tittles and we base potential on what those guys do ...how about insted of trashing get money togeather ask sponsors and put money behind him and i bet you he still has to fight the same people to get to top.
point is the kid can get to the top ask the top 5 in aussie to fight him i bet you theres not a chance. but ask those top 5 to fight middle weights with a record 20 f 20 losses and youl call them unbelievable fighters the way they beat that skinny kid..

lepi is the next big thing if he gets the wright shot

Hey Cocupyanana,
I never said Leapai didnt have a bright future nor did I bag him in any way:deal
What I was saying is that because we live on the other side of World on an Island away from where all the money is generated in this sport, it will be hard for him to realise his potential without substantial backing or relocating:hi:

i'll be honest & serious i'll leave heta out of this - lol,but leapai does have a big year for 2009 with a chance 2 join meehan up in the ranks & spoken 2 barry michael he's a big fan of leapai/thornberry a great h/w who ducks no 1 he says where if leapai was superfit & use his combinations, jabs plus his overhangs as on papers "Austrlia's MikeTyson" imagine how far this kid can go, by the looks of it his jaw is pretty solid. i think leapai vs botha & leapai vs morrison be great good on you thornberry.

Does any 1 pick up on leapais fights when he gets angry in the ring he nods his head as if he's saying "is that all you got"? tell me is that a h/w with balls.

Australia's Tyson????

Im gobsmacked....

The bloke is decent pro but he should be putting the likes of cronje away within a few rounds before you even consider making comparisons to Iron Mike..

Leapai would of put up a better fight against valuev than hollyfield if superfit, i dnt think leapai would fight for the aussie title he'll be wasting his time just bash hoppa for the sake of it, make their way overseas.it makes a great combo for 2009 leapai/thornberry brothers & big kenny, thornbrry wouldn't be stupid to take on alex if he knew their was somethink special about this kid who is still learning

any body know if alex is tongan or samoan and whats with the entrance music in a good way?

It might be more interesting, but the result would be different. Valuev fought Lyakhovic who does everything Alex does, but better, and didn't lose a round.

i say leapai fights better than Lyakhovic if he was superfit & improves his fighting style to 1 extra level.

Are you serious? You're talking about a bloke who got dusted by Col Wilson a few fights ago. Alex is a good domestic fighter with a good chance of progressing to a higher level if he is dedicated. The White Wolf is a long way ahead of him.

the debate is alex has potential and the reason youse are on the debate is because if he wants to put his mind on to it he is capable of making it.
he has a big chance of making it
and he probably dosen have the biggest punch and he is not the fittest fighter out there at the momment and probably should have put cronje away early fitzgerald almost ko cronje first round but eperience let fitzy down
alexs has far more potential then fitzy
and he has a solid camp who are prepared to get him there if he wants it bad enough n for the col wilson debate he got stopped by miro got stopped by cameron and is on the way out of the game,
its like putting zappa up against gannoy or katsidis or lovemore just not ready yet but in time ?????????????

The only way you are going prove me wrong is if Leapai beats Lyakovich, I never said Leapai didn't have potential but you said he was better than Lyakovich which clearly opens your opinion up for critisism.
But going on your previos posts I don't hold your opinion in high reguard anyway:good

at what stage was lepai in his career when he got beat by col.? and if you seen the fight could you give me a run down of lepais performance was he still learning or was col just to eperienced at the time

Leapai lost to Col in June on a close points decision Col used a lot of lateral movement and outboxed Leapai.

Solis was a Cuban Gold medalist from the Olympics, gave Haye a run in the Amateurs.
As a pro he is a bit lazy but I believe this is because of the money the Germans have thrown at him.
To say he would come Ito here and fight for that budgy title is worse than saying Leapai is better than Lyakhovic.
Chauncey was just another notch on the belt for Solis and frankley Solis looked bored in the fight, everyone knows Chauncey wouldn't knock a hen of it's nest but he has a world class chin.

Lyakhovic won the WBO Heavyweight title from Lamon Brewster in 06 Mellgirl said in an earlier post that Leapai would beat him.
For the record Lyakhovic beat Friday Ahunanya when he was an undefeated prospect and Friday just beat Cameron.
So Bellboy how would Leapai go with Cameron:yikes
