Yeah Moore has pulled out his tune up fight, and Adan Amar is ill, but still looks a very good bill, will be watching tonight on TV, last bit of boxing on TV before xmas i believe?

To those watching on tv be careful, this starts at 20:00 not the normal 22:00.

I'll be going to this tonight and despite the withdrawals of Moore, Watson-Amar, Gary O'Sullivan and Kiko Martinez's opponent Gavin Reid, it should still be a great night of boxing.

Reid's withdrawal disappoints me a bit because he would of lead to an exciting dangerous fight, however instead we've been given Martinez v the most uncompetitive fighter you can find who still always manages to go the distance.

How about this bet with Paddy Power?

Treble
Sutherland KO/TKO WIN
Booth WIN (Straight)
Munroe Points WIN

Odds = 9/2 with Paddy Power

---

What round will Darren win in?

Head says throw a fiver on the 2nd for the fun at odds of 7/2

Sutherland to win UNDER 3.5 = EVENS

Theres the bet, Iliev wont see the 4th round, Sutherland can band and Iliev has being stopped 3 out 5 of his fights, twice before the 3rd round by nobodys

nec need to win 2 nil aswell mate to send spurs out. so spurs are still hanging on to uefa cup spot. is it me or has munroe look poor in his last two fights in that he starts really slow.

The part when he said the other guy wanted out.

Munroe was wearing him down, but come on, he hardly quit like a bitch.

I really hate four round fights!

They are getting him back on the card of Moore's EBU challenge - isn't that a bit of a long layoff?

I like him. He has a nice well paced professional style, I think he will adapt well.

He looks very string at the weight, I dont know how easy 168lbs is for him but I can see a move up in the future. He looks like a exciting fighter cant wait to see him in the ring again.

March seems like a long lay off after scoring a first round TKO win though...

I cant see DeGale looking that 'professional' when he turns pro. I think we'll see some unconvincing 4 round decisions to begin with, his style is all about the scoring system, he'll struggle.

Hughes didn't come out for the 10th (or 11th maybe, can't remember now) - Booth looked very good, pretty much won every round. Very sharp.

Shame it stopped like that but Rendall was starting to step it up a gear after a shaky start. Hopefully he will fight Dunne next and if he wins that then why not have a world title shot. Probably will lose, not the easiest division around but might as well give it a go. Enjoyed what there was of the fight, Rendalls fights are always good.

jc
12-18-2008, 05:21 PM
I think Munroe has reached his level with the European title and thats no bad thing.

I just dont see any space for him at world level, the WBC,WBC,WBO and WBA belts are all taken up with some quality talent. Super Bantam is one if the best divisions around right now, he'll struggle even to get a shot.

Munroe has to face Kiko again as mandatory next bout, then hopefully Dunne after if he comes through Kiko which i think he will do again.

Beeston Brawler
12-18-2008, 05:40 PM
I think Munroe has Kiko's number.

Dunne will be a different proposition however. His weakness seems to be his beard, but Munroe isn't exactly Israel Vasquez in the power department so he may lose that one.

Will look forward to it though.

The winner might get a WBC shot.......

And be fucking destroyed by Vasquez/Marquez - either of whom will school the pretenders Lopez and Caballero.

Anybody else think that Watt was being overly critical of Munroe at the start of the fight.
The guy started like a train, but was hitting arms mostly and it was obvious that he wouldn't be able to sustain it.
Watt seemed to have an agenda and was looking for any excuse to be negative.
I agree that there's no point in trying for world honours at the moment.
But there's some decent pay days out there at british and euro level.

He did indeed look huge at the weight, but remember he is 27 years old, and he should be physically matured already. He may just stay were he is.

The Moore fight is in March, isn't it?

Boxing always slows down over the Xmas season, so he should fight on the undercard of Moore and then pick up fights every couple of months from there.

Really excited about Darren; decent skills, big punch and a good chin. Plus he comes across as a humble enough bloke (doesn't blow his own trumpet too much - just leaves that kinda shit to Maloney). I hope he does well.

Yeah thought it was a very impressive debut for Sutherland, maybe a bit slow defensive wise for a minute or so, letting a few jabs in but overall looked very good. Seems a really nice fella too hope he does well.

Think Munroe would've gone onto boss the rest of the fights, maybe even forcing a stoppage late on. That Trotta's a right little jack in a box, seems like a right character, I liked him, bit of a nutter.

Good win for Gary Davies, Paul Hyland looked very crisp also, and Jason Booth really impressed, best i've seen him.

Do you not think Lopez would have a chance of a KO against Vasquez. Especially as we don't know how he's going to be after those 3 wars.

Very impressed by Hyland. Looks a very good prospect.

Davies looked good too.

Booth was back to his best almost.

Munroe started to look good as the fight went on and is still very much a work in progress. Him vs Dunne is a great potential fight.

Sutherland looked good and seems an ok guy.

Jim watt always has his agenda and he usually picks one fighter in the fight to constantly criticise and say what he is doing so wrong, when in fact they might be putting up a good fight, defo they most negative commentator in the game

sky please put him back in the studio, leave the commentating to darke and glen mc

for anyone who watched the live broadcast from 8pm to 10pm on sky sports , did sky have anyone in the studio analysing the fights like johnny nelson usually does.

i only saw the repeat (broadcast at 12.30am). on the repeat there was no one in the studio analysing the fights. also there was no little report before the fights like craig slater etc normally do. they showed the after fight interview and then moved straight onto the mext fight. they had no report with interviews before the munroe or sutherland fights like they would usually show.

i'm just wodering does anybody know was the repeat the exact same as the live broadcast? thanks.
