Did they take the Irish crowd for a ride? That card was like a fucking fight night card, awful....
.....And Okami won, no way it was a UD!
Disgraceful pay-per-view
Don't even compare it to an UFN card. That makes UFN look bad, and the last one was 10x better than this PPV.
Dana White should have paid us to watch that.
I hope the numbers are ridiculously low. A PPV with a co-main event between some bum with no endurance and a a TUFer who cried after his last match is just pitiful. And don't get me started on a 3 round main event...
At least the next few cards look awesome because the UFC sure owes its fans after this one. They have the audacity to remove all my favorite Cro Cop highlights from Youtube, and then try to get me to pay 40 dollars to see this garbage?
Man, I miss Pride. Butterbean vs. Zulu would have been a better co-main event than watching Forrest Griffin.

I really really do miss Pride, its not funny.....
Yeah it was the worst in a while but there shouldn't be another 1 like this for some time. 73, 74, and 75 are already great and with more pride guys coming over, every card should be great. And you can't say Okami won the fight when he did shit the first 2 rounds. Franklin didn't do much more but it's scored by rounds. Doesn't matter what Okami did in the third.

I was watching some old Pride shows yesterday, and the production value is just outstanding. Everything from the amazing intros, to the fighter entrances ("In the rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrred corner, from Russia, with love..."
Heck, I miss the occasional freakshow fight, and I really miss the Japanese fans. For the most part, they were downright awesome.

I hear ya buddy, im exactly the same...I rewatched 33 and 34 recently, they are so well done ... From the fighters introduced at the start to the crazy japanese bird on the loudspeaker, fucking entertainment!

Don't get me wrong. I like the UFC every once and awhile. But Pride was on a whole different level in its heyday. And after UFC 72 last night, I'm not particularly pleased with the UFC. They need to redeem themselves in my eyes.

The card was a head scratcher. Dana talks about breaking into Europe but mugging Europe off isn't the way to go.
He needs to let Fedor fight in Europe and stack the undercard. Get Russia on board easy. Britain will jump on no problem but UFC72 wasn't a great way to start. If every semi-major event is going to be PPV it needs to be worth the money.

it was not worth a penny. take away the forrest fight and i'd probably walked away before the main event. but seriously, this was not far from what i expected. franklin vs shamrock was not even ppv and they made this ppv? why?? ufc has put together a string of great events and this, i hope, i just a road bump

i thought the guida-griffin fight was really entertaining.franklin almost got subbed and the herman fight wasn't bad.overall it wasn't ppv material but i thought it was okay.

IT wasn't a great card, but jesus people, it wasn't THAT bad. You knew what you were getting when you bought the ppv, so if you're a big Ed Herman or Rich Franklin or Marcus Davis fan, it was probably totally worth it. They seemed to be working pretty hard to please the irish fans, not the American ones.
And no WAY did Okami win. I thought he had a good chance to before the fight, but he didn't actually start fighting until the third round.

I thought the Guida/Griffin fight was one of the best fights ever. The others were decent, but I was disappointed in Okami's lack of pressure. He didn't do shit until the last two minutes of the third round. Franklin did everything he needed to win that fight while chasing Okami around the ring. Overall, it was a good UFC and with the several friends I had to help pay for it, it was hardly a rip-off.

It was pretty so-so, but Griffin-Guida was a fight of the year candidate, Davis continues to impress, and for the record, Okami lost that fight clear as day.
